and does the thread tag work again yet? this thread
how about a classified forum. i know alot of ppl that would like this ... find a buy and then set it up via ebay.
That's a good idea. Problem is ads would end up there.Zitat:

Is there any way to make donations not count towards the PM flood thingy?
How about lessening the short message thing to two characters.
That way, you could just post yes or no to those types of questions.
how bout counting posts in the gfx section... it is not an off topic section....
Opera support.
thats not somthing they can just "fix" that is a problem with VB 3.5.4 itself...
why does the / me tag make the text green :(
Because it's cool.

ok, I have a suggestion, We should have another board in the Wii section for Virtual Console Games.
i will continue to say it until it happens... post count in gfx section. there are no off topic posts there, and a post count might encourage others to come and check it out instead of spamming in psp forums....
*agrees*Zitat:

Post Count in the GFX Forum....it's in no way off topic...
ok....*cries*
It's also not a big deal. It's located in the Off Topic section of the forum, along with all other topics that fall outside the frontpage blogs. Since there is no tie to the blogs, the site admins have been nice enough to give us a place talk outside of the box. This isn't a graphics site, etc.Zitat:

If you can make an argument that the rate the signature and rate the avatar threads are not spam, then I will bring your request backstage.
Edit - Or for that matter all of the "I offer 8 bajillion points for a signature and avatar combo threads that go off topic on post two."
OK....those topics can be a bit spammy....and I understand how it's not part of the front page network....fair points.
I second that. If a topic is pointless, who cares? you don't gain post count and it's always more fun when you aren't forced to stay ontopic.Zitat:
Zitat von CoolRaccoon
I third that. Just a forum where we(as forum members) can ran rampant with our pointless threads...the equivalent of no topic is opening up the MDPR....but that has ran it's course.Zitat:
Zitat von CoolRaccoon
You can 100th or even 1000th the idea, I doubt it will ever happen.
If you feel like rambling incoherently, use the Flash Chat.
I ****ing hate flash chat. and i know it will never happen. but if people keep suggesting something then someone will notice (negative or positive). but i often forget that this place isn't the same as it was last year. when user input actually made a difference.Zitat:
Zitat von Abe_Froeman
I 1000000th the idea :PZitat:
Zitat von Abe_Froeman
it'll probably never happen...but Flash Chat does suck. Nobody is there, and it slows down my PC. (Yes my PC is ****-tastic)
It's just been tried too many times and failed. The Party Room would still be open if people treated others with the smallest amount of respect and didn't flame anyone.Zitat:
Zitat von Archangel Uriel
There isn't enough staff online at any given time to deal with an entire forum with no rules for topics or posts. It would last less than a week before some flame war started or people were posting links to sites or things that the forum doesn’t support, etc.
Ok that makes sense. But the party room is completely not my fault, i was on vacation.:DZitat:

On a site such as QJ, the community is filled with many different types of people. From kids with a brand new PSP, to a father still young enough in the heart to kick ass on Xbox live to the college student needing a place to chill. This is one of the many reasons QJ is great, everyone varies in thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and such, but we can all relate on a certain topic given to us on the forum. One of these is the graphics section. Similar to all forums an image placed in a spot under your text called a Signature is given to us. For premium we can go as big as 1000x300 (300K Hot Club), and for non premium we have userbars (350x20). So we are allowing everyone in the community of QJ to have a small piece of artwork to tell a little about themselves. So naturally people that cannot make signatures will go to others that can for help. Originally a small spot was located in the photography section that went unnoticed. This caused unwanted signature contest, or signature request/contest forums to be placed in the only other place that Signatures would fall under, Off-Topic forum. As we all know the off topic forum is just that, a place for threads and posts that do not fall under any other category to go. Since they are mostly irrelevant to the site, and many times can be spam (random posts that serve no purpose what so ever) the entire off topic section got stripped of post count, as well as point rack up. When signature and other graphics contest took over the off topic, and not the assigned location it was given a branch in the General Off-Topic section was made to host all these. It was a hit. Since many go to off topic for just that kind of stuff, the community became bigger and bigger, till it was evenly matched up with other big sections in the forum. But the people that posted in these forums were deprived of something that is a pretty big deal at QJ. Points and post count. Since both was not used in the Off-Topic forum (where the majority of these things were held) the removal of posts and post counts happened as well. This is not fair for a number of reasons. The original place where Photoshop was introduced to this forum had a post count, yet when a new place that is more active is made it is removed. Also there is MUCH less spam and off topic posts that go in there than almost any other place. In PSP, there are tons of repeated threads asking how to install this etc, when all problems can be solved with a simple search. Also more posts lead to flaming in PSP section than anywhere else. People leave such as developers. People get accused for copyright infringement, causing huge threads 10+ pages long of spam and unneeded flaming. Sure you can ban those who cause that but it will still happen. Does this mean will stop post count in PSP section as well? If not, there is no reason to take it away from the graphics community. Now Abe_Froeman (a well known mod at the forum) brought up a few “issues” with giving the Photoshop section post count.
“If you can make an argument that the rate the signature and rate the avatar threads are not spam, then I will bring your request backstage.”
Well sure the rate the signature/avatar above you threads could be an easy way to rack up points/posts but this can easily be solved. For one, saying those threads are spam is totally wrong. That is a place to see how others think of your work, and to see what they think you can do to improve. Also it gives them a place to show off their latest work. Instead of a new thread every time someone gets/makes a new signature/avatar would be ridiculous. So this is a spot for everyone to show off their work and get simple yet helpful feedback. Now those threads could also lead to people continually asking to rate a signature they already got rated 5 or 6 times. There are 2 or more ways to solve this but I will say the 2 easies/most sensible decisions. There are moderators assigned to the forum because they have proven themselves a responsible and good member on the forum. They have the ability to warn/ban other members. And we are given the ability to lets these moderators know what is happening around the site with a “Notify Mod” button. If moderators are willing to warn or ban those who are taking advantage of the thread I would assume that no problems will occur. That is the moderator’s job right? Also a simple set of rules could be implemented for these threads to follow by. Like only ask to rate the same signature/avatar 2 times. Any other rating can be through AIM or pm (if you want some one in particular to rate you). Similar idea could be applied to any thread that may get out of hand. But think about it, if this all works out, not only will we please the strong community that is already formed in the graphics section, we will be promoting others to come and check out all the cool things they can learn and do. Instead of spamming the PSP section just so you can get enough points to play another arcade game or change the color of your username, why not come participate in signature competitions that reach in the millions of points? By telling everyone that we cannot have out posts or points in a section that is well under control and well watched, is like saying that the graphics section is not a worth while place to be. I say encourage the young and old Photoshopers to post and help others around them. We do not learn everything by practice, but by little tricks that everyone picks up and shares. By promoting the graphics section in the small way of allowing post count we are making this community grow stronger, and grow in numbers. I see no reason why you should deprive the people that love the play around with Photoshop, and I hope you see that too.
