Look, atm I have a restriction on things. Now once I enable more and iron out what we will allow. (Which I will allow some more "keyboard" standard characters in the number area) Things will be fine. Just atm I wanted to lockdown a few areas, let it cool off, see how we stand, then go from there. Kinda waited to see if anything else was up.. since I was just recently told more about this being a major annoyance lately with users abusing this and it causing issues.

No, actually I want that to stop right now, Stop blaming Xandu! He may have been the one that was noticed. However it was youresam who noticed which things to use.
Not to mention this pointed out a issue that shouldve been fixed! Which I DID orig fix THAT issue alone. Was LATER I was informed with a issue caused by a bug (well more like a non prevented method) in vbplazas code. This allowed users to basically get anything they wanted... space in front of the username, odd chars, and things that "shouldnt" be allowed, but when using vbplaza.. it didnt have any type of checking for things like the actual vb coding does. So I fixed this myself... took awhile, but I did it.
However, I will try to make things right as this is not designed to piss everyone off, but more like stop people from making names they really do not need, or to stop issues that their usernames caused in the forums itself. (Preventing PMs, searches or bans on a user, odd handling and display of a username)

Look... I know people find bugs or glitches in VB forums or within something like a major addon like vbplaza.. Now normally people tell me and thats fine.. but when used and not even try to make mention of it.. is bad..
And yes Macca.. sometimes I DO feel like its my fault! OK?! Thats why I spend hours sometimes designing a way to counteract them.. even tho it may not have been my major addon (ones that are released on official vb site and everyone uses) I will still try to solve it.
I mean I am tired of people pointing the blame on everyone at times when sometimes the issue may have been used by someone.. but the main issue was within something else and just needed a patchup.
Now anyways.. I dont mind if people blame me for a bug that is within the forums. I dont mind if people flame me for when I am working on things in the forums and a bug comes up or glitch... Hell I dont mind if you hate my guts if one day something major happened that was my fault..
I just do know that I will always try to work securely and try to do anything within my power to fix anything that could cause a issue. Now if that bothers some... I am sorry.. but I do care what happens here.. I just hate sometimes getting word from EVERYONE about who does what, and youd be surprised at how many people point a finger, chat logs about someone else, They send them to us admins and we get so many sides and stories..

You see, the orig making of your username using the registration was fine.. it wouldnt allow a space to be used in a way that would affect things.. however changing usernames did.
I may review the case of this too. However... again.. the rule is this.. if your name isnt anything that stands out.. is offensive... causes a issue in the forum mechanics itself... then chances are you will not be noticed.
There are only 2 people who would be able to change usernames and that is Ipaq or Myself.. and Ipaq already knows grandfathered usernames will not be effected and it will be a sole judgement call if a username is needed to be changed for users who have current ones with items that are blocked.
Now I KNOW "spaces" would be nice to enable.. however.. that would cause issues.. and I DOUBT users would want to have to make a NEW account just for a space...
We may allow personal requests for some users if they desire a space for a certain reason... however some factors will take place if that will be allowed.. somethings like, if that username will be the final username period.. or if the user will just keep changing anyways etc.. Since obviously.. not everyone changes all the time, since whats the point. (Kinda like how orig I allowed one free change from cool 300k to hot) However, in terms of personal requests for use of a "space" I will have to discuss with Ipaq and determine in fairness what we will allow and disallow.
We wish to make this ideal for everyone, while same time maintaining order. I just do not want everyone to feel like we are doing this to piss you all off.. its beyond that, its more like we want you to enjoy your time here, while preventing people from either doing something that serves no purpose.. or cause issues on. You all know we listen to comments and feedback, you also know we DO make changes. Just realize.. not everything will be a pot of gold and sometimes things people get used to, will change as well.
Don't really know why people are getting agitated about the new naming system...

Basically.. again.. this was a lockdown on things and then ease up as things progress.. 1st lockdown all issues, then next phase is ease up and allow things once you know its safe and cannot be abused.
I mean same with sigs.. if your not noticed.... or causing a issue with your stuff.. chances are you will be left alone. Otherwise we mention things to maintain things here. Not to just annoy someone.
