I really like that idea now, since not everyone would have the same voting power. Would it be simple like installing a plugin, or would Myst have to work her magic?

Seriously folks, how many percent of the users give a damn about points? I'd have to lean towards... .001%. Now is that a lot? Don't think so.
.. So who cares. Reset 'em or get rid of 'em all-together. They serve no purpose.
And for the people that buy premium for others... in exchange for points! Don't come whining in this thread just because you wasted your money on something that means nothing. Please. It's your own fault.

trust me i have been on forums with rep systems, i would attack the people i dont like with bad rep every day... anyway it is not a safe system since OTHERS can change the amt of rep points you have

how about we have a forums that gets no interest? That way we already have a hell alot of points going around, and it wont grow. Users can gain more by doing tasks and NOT sitting on their ass and waiting for interest time to come around. Also this will eliminate point swap. And people cant complain about losing points cause you dont lose any, you just dont gain any for doing nothing, or make interest once a week like i said from the beginning...

either way our system is way to messed up to change somthing and get a good result, we need to reset it...

Do you actually believe that? Users do care about their points. Just because you don't doesn't mean everyone doesn't.

it would be installing a plugin then tweaking it with the admin control panal to make it perfect... either way i have been in the rep system, no tthe best one imo

If only prem is allowed to do it I don't see why it's that much of a problem. There can also be a limit on the amount of bad rep you can give too.

BTW: It seems to work fine on PSPunmentionables.

lmao ya but still i like the point system. The minute you set up a plan where someone else controls what amt of points you get lose or gain, problems occur. Lets say 2 people plan a thing where they give each other rep EVERY day and it builds up and up and up and soon they are giving each other 5 points a day. and those 2 can also lower 1 persons everyday. To be blatantly honest you cannot trust the majority of the QJ cause they are greedy and we all know it

But, what if the rep giving can be logged?

Then, the mods and admins can tell when that occurs, and stop it.

just like they are stopping points swaps... heh...

also i do not think rep systems can be implemented in stores and if stores are set up for them, they will not be nearly as good as VBplaza or other point systems..

I'm fine with the basic things of name changing, color names, stuff like that.

those all came from the stores... not the point system. The point system and stores are 2 totally different things, to truly understand how they work you would have to set one up (it isnt fun)

ANYWAY!!!!! doesnt having a rep system screw the economy of QJ anyway AND reset it?
we would all have to start from scratch the rep system, so that is like reseting points, AND we cant trade rep, it is given to us and only us, so tasks like makin sigs and lotteries will be gone... this is def not a correct solution

you must be joking. points are the whole reason people stay here now and try to post and work towards, points have corrupt qj, its not like people come here to have a good time anymore (some do) they come here to earn points and be the richest user...you have no idea what you are talking about.

take goku for example, he would stop getting premium and coming here if he lost his points, and hes one of the measly people who doesnt do anythign with them, he just lets it sit there so he can try and have more and more and doesnt want to spend any for fear of not getting them back.

point swaps are harder for us to find out.... they look like normal donations, but rep farming like that shows up pretty clearly

... when i look at donation history it is quite obvious to me if a point swap is going on...

I don't know about reputation, but why not just switch everybody back to one hundred points. Then if the Administrators/Moderators feel that you had truly earned your points, you shall receive a donation of sorts. Much like what went on after we upgraded to vbPlaza.

But on the other hand, a reputation system DOES seem nice. Would be an effective way to gauge how helpful/cool/nice someone is.

If your thinking of reseting the points, might as well remove the point system because most users are against it.

Reputation seems kinda dumb because it may just turn into a popularity contest.

I am against the resetting of the points.
I have earned my points doing stuff, If they reset it, In about 6 month, We will be at the same spot again, your just trying to avoid a problem which will have to deal with again.
If your going to reset the points, Might as well get rid of it.
But some people like The Spiral earned their points by spending REAL money for it, So what will you do about that?

i think a rep system should be added either way, and the rep system should dictate if you are a "master" or "elite" or just a "journeyman"

its not like 20 people are doing it every day.... i know, and im positive you guys know a particular 2...

anyway that is why you need to set up rules that this wil not happen, and if someone gets caught you ban them. I belive this thread served its purpose and to prevent a bunch of noobs spamming 'omg but i likezz and totally earned my points (ya, right) im gonna lock it. if mods have anymore questions feel free to open it, i just wanted to throw the idea across, thank you for your time...
