MGS4 can be played in both ways. Its supposed to be a Stealth game, but it has good shooting too.

Not quite. Loads of the time, its a room full of people. You'll have to get around them without being caught or setting off alarms. Or theres jungle parts, snow parts. All these vary the way you have to play. Its hard to sum up how it is, as it changes so often.

The main bosses of this game, are woman that have been mentally destroyed by war. Due to that, they've had to be put back into the warzone, but in the shape of machines.

Its pretty much the basic MP modes (DM, TDM etc) with the Metal Gear mechanics. So stealth plays a bit part in big maps, but in smaller ones, its pretty much run and gun.

Modes like DM and TDM you are a soldier, fighting other soldiers. There is a mode though, that one person in the room, becomes Snake. Everyone else is a soldier that has to kill him.

Not neccesarily, but to enjoy it thoroughly (which this game deserves), you should.

It can be either if you play on the default. Otherwise you'll have a hard time going through it with purely action. It's pretty much point A to point B, but it doesn't feel that way because the paths aren't linear, and there isn't always a 'challenge' at the end. The bosses attack a lot differently than you're standard grunts, and each suffer from PSD.

Online is pretty much the same as the main game, except that you aren't Snake, and yeah you'll probably play it for awhile. The game explains everything pretty well, though some events (like Shadow Moses) you'll have to go on Wikipedia.

Am I going to have to replay levels over and over if I suck at being stealthy?

Provided your not playing on Big Boss Hard or The Boss Extreme, then no.

for me, the only thing I had to look up was how to defeat Screaming Mantis. Everything else, I figured out. Usually Otacon does a good job of guiding you.

I have never played a Metal Gear game in my life and this instantly became my favorite game for PS3. In fact, it encouraged me to get Portable Ops for PSP which isn't as good, but is still fun.

Only thing I had to look up was killing Vamp XD

btw, anyone know why the Geckos 'bleed'?

Hal explains that their legs use tissue similar to what athletes have. The top part is armoured to protect the computer. Also, Gekko would of been too heavy for in-door ops. They also wouldn't of been as agile and flexible if they had used steel/armour on the legs. It's real tissue, that is why it bleeds.

This was explained in Act 4.

Well if you listened to the cutscene where Naomi talks about the syringe suppressing nanomachines, and the one where you learn Vamp is kept alive by nanomachines, it all really comes together.

ya, I did listen to her, and after I found out I was just kinda like OHHHHHHHHH, that makes sense.

Finished the game yesterday. Clocked in at 20:34 on Solid Normal. Earned Eagle. Gonna replay it soon.

Anyone know how the full MGO is? I participated in the beta, but I haven't played the full one yet.

Beat it again.

This time in under 4 hours and with no kills.

I beat it about an hour ago.

i'm a bit sad now because i was hoping it would never end.

I got shot and killed and he woke up in the chopper and then I turned off the console. So when I play again this weekend, what's the deal with that flashback level.

i think its for good old memories sake, basically you just had to enter the vents then you wake up, same thing happens when you die.

Once you go into one of the vents on either the ground or the upper part of the building by using the stairs to the right it goes back to the chopper sequence and Snake wakes up. I guess the same thing happens if you get shot and die.

It basically is a dream that he is having and I guess you shut it off right before he said that to Otacon.

I actually hesitated a bit on the MGS1 level... I forgot what I had to do on that level since I played a really long time ago... then I figured out that I needed to go through the vent.

I thought the complexity of the story line, would entertain someone smart like you. Its sure a great change from the ******** that can be found elsewhere.


Anyway, i think just for the sheer graphical and sound values in this game, it deserves it. The end is just something i've never played.

I thought they were really well done. And I can't see how you can say they all acted the same, if by general you mean crazy, then yes, but each had a specific emotion they were ruled by. And I thought the backstories were really well done.
