Well since you're just gonna ignore my question about Solidus, it would help if you payed attention to the Epilogue. Big Boss tells you exactly what happened to Solidus after the events of MGS2 leading to his death on the Volta River.

that Johnny's face looks like Big Boss? His face was never revealed before, in any of the games he's been in. Could it be possible that he's another clone or am I just crazy?

He was a genome soldier in MGS1 meaning he had Big Boss's genes in him.

That he expected something to clear things up because prior to the epilogue, nothing had been said about Solidus...so in a sense...he knew Big Boss was gonna be there


And I too had a Mega Man tune playing in my head mainly after beating Crying Wolf...the Mega Man 3 tune to be exact

They mentioned Solidus a few times before the epilogue, either with Big Mama or the Debriefing with Naomi, just that he died in Manhattan. If they had said exactly what happened to Solidus's remains, it would've made you think wether or not that was really Big Bosses body that got burnt at the Volta and also it would've lessen the the surprise at the end.

Also Johnny is not affected by SOP, surely the genome would be affected in some way if Big Boss' genes affect SOP due to the patriots system?

Honestly, I think it's just a little joke, well not really a joke, but kind of like an easter egg, but not really. Kinda like how Raikov(sp?) in MGS3 looked strikingly familiar to Raiden, but really had no relations with him.
heh. wouldn't you love to see a Metal Gear Johny? :p

I do not understand how some of you can have so much time and be able to beat this game multiple times already. I got it on launch and have only got mid way into Act 2( 4hr 30 mins in) and thats not due to a lack of interest, just been busy( college registration, finally getting a license, etc).


All in all though from what I have played it is a excellent game and is the leader thus far for GOTY. Now I just need to play it some more.........

I beat it on Solid Normal this morning. Very good game.

Oh... I haven't played MGS2...

Before the last act and cutscene, the games a 9/10. After it, its a definate 10.



That was, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful scenes in gaming.

Act 4 gameplay is the best and then act 5 it gets intense.

I'm on act 5 right now, no alerts and continues. The damn stealth chip costs too much.

I just got a gamesave that has all unlocks. Just so that i could run round with the Stealth Chip. You can still get caught with it, explosions and being shot reveal yourself.

Then change the goddam style sheet to VB Orig like we've been saying ever since the forum update. It's hardly rocket science and fixes most of the problems with the forums.

Hopefully we won't have to worry about people seeing the announcement for much longer..

Spoiler for what i did:

An alert wouldn't be triggered if you applied a suppressor to the rifle, also for the gekkos you just had to shoot the legs with a tranquilizer gun a few times then they fall down.

I just completed the game with no alerts, got the stealth cammo. Ranked Octopus and Eagle :) Now play again but on "The Boss Extreme Mode".

If you get caught, let yourself die, and then hit continue, does it still count as an alert?

Buy the essential collection, then buy this.

If you're wondering what order the games go in it's Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, and then Metal Gear Solid 4. I left out the PSP games and whatnot.

Yes you should, this is the first I've played and I'm loving it :). Still on act 4 :/

I got mine from Sears of all places. They had three in stock.
