Beat it yesterday morning. "Inchworm"

I'm just on the Laughing Octopus boss fight. This game is awesome.

when i beat it i got inchworm, panther and one other one i can't remember

I about **** myself when Big Boss showed up in the ending, especially how true he was to the original character and mg2:SS designs. being a big original metal gear fan this was like Oh sweet jesus....!~0_0

well the essentials doesn't have Metal gear 1, 2 or portable ops. or for the matter any of the great spin offs. and the MGS3 in it says it's subsistence but it's only a half assed version without the second disc which is extremely disspointing but ultimately doesn't matter to me since i already own subsistence

sorry for the quadruple post. what the hell happened to Auto-merge? and for some reason i cannot go into advance view so i can delete the posts and manually merge them into one.

for the millionth time, switch to VBorig.

I'm going to buy this tomorrow maybe. I actually waited till I beat MGS2 >_>.

I got Inchworm, Scorpion, and Hyena.

You guys only got 3? I got all of these different ones... the main one was Eagle. Am I missing something? I got:

-Eagle
-Centipede
-Frog
-Hawk
-Hog
-Hyena
-Inchworm
-Pig
-Scarab

... And I think that's it... I don't remember all of them.

Also, how do you obtain the camera?

Yeah, only three for me. The camera is upstairs on the plane during the Act 4 Mission Briefing.

Oh, the only time I used an Mk.II during a Mission Briefing was during Act 1. :/ I'm going to go start a new game.

Beat it the other night. Was awarded Eagle and got the Crocodile, Hyena, Pig, Frog and the Cow. I think I'm missing one. Started BIG BOSS Extreme.

That fight scene with Liquid was pretty incredible. Mostly the cut scenes of it, although I did appreciate that they made the actual fight similar to the one on top of REX in MGS.

Liquid doin' the finger gunnin' hilarious, classic Kojima.

PS, I like Johnny. Hope Kojima continues the MGS series with him.

Yeah, he seems like a cool character. Though, i'd rather have them chose someone thats a bit more special.

Who is more special than who's genes were used to create the whole series...

Completed Act 1 last night. Wasn't really feeling this game too much most of the way through Act 1 but something clicked at the end of Act 1 and I'm hooked.

You can get a longer lasting battery for the MKII/Solid Eye in the Act 2 briefing. Very useful.

I just got my DS3 today, really improves the gameplay, just started "The Boss Extreme" mode :)

I got the signed sleeve from that HMV signing, and got the imported US LE. Completed the game Friday, was far above my expectations. Totally amazed by the ending, well worth the wait.
It's unlikely, but I hope they'll announce something at E3. Not necessarily a Metal Gear game, just a project involving Kojima.

I have the DS3, didn't get any rumble, seems like a pretty odd error. And also, "Psycho" Mantis is a he.

lol i just put MGS1 on my PSP after playing this. Thought I might as well fill myself in on the whole story (The database doesn't really cut it for me).

This deserves in every way to be game of the year, but since its not on the wii, or has "halo" in its title....*sigh*

I need to play through the others again :/

To be fair the PS3 didn't really have many games worthy of GoTY last year. Only one I can think of is Ratchet, and that's a stretch.

MGS1 was epic. Had so many little touches that set it apart from every other game at that time.

Tell me about it, Me and my friends had so many good times playing it, taking turns. We took it so seriously.

Was the game that made me think "When we're supposed to be stealthy in the game, Why do we whisper to each other ?"

Answer, You feel so involved in the in-depth story line.

They are trully geniuses.

Axxewraith, that is exactly what me and my friends did when we played MGS1. I played MGS1 then stopped until Snake Eater.

I now regret not playing 2.

Graphical accomplishment of the year maybe but I wouldn't put it as GOTY.

Bah!

I found it frustrating at first and it felt a little clunky as well (which I think most people complain about). After playing a harder difficulty and being forced to learn the controls properly and play it like I think the devs intended, I really started having a blast. My only complaint after having finished it was how short it was.

I think it felt too slow for people, just like how it felt too me at first. I almost gave up on it but once I got it down, it just kept getting better and better. Melee was awesome and so was gunplay.

Easily the best AI this generation, which made it really enjoyable and replayable. It was definitely my GoTY for 2007, both systems.

i have to agree. Uncharted was a beautiful game to look at but apart from that there just wasn't much there..big let down for me.

I can't think of a future release to dethrone this at the moment.

Not for the PS3 at least. Gears 2 will surely be huge. And Resistance 2 is out the same month but I don't expect that to be as big as MGS4.

For someone that has never played a MGS before, this is great to hear and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

it really is great to hear things like that. Also, you really should go and play the other ones, the fixed cameras may get a bit annoying, but you'll get used to it.

Absolutely amazing. Just finished it, and I can honestly say that it's the best game I ever played. Having only played some of MGS1 and only a little of MGS2,(I actually got bored/frustrated with both), I wasn't sure what to expect, but I got completely wrapped up in the story. The gameplay was absolutely amazing, the graphics were the best ever, and the story was just amazing. It was the first video game that ever felt like a truly submersive experience.

OT: Uncharted was definitely my GOTY last year. I thought the whole package was amazing. Great story, likable character, great graphics. I replayed it 3 times, including the hardest difficulty (which was incredibly hard). I've never replayed any video game more than once before, but Uncharted was just so good.
