after they stab each other, Raiden was able to jump up to the helicopter with no pain, but then when he gets on the copter, he started acting hurt.

its impossible to beat raging raven, without using lethal weapons. That fight was not hard but it was just really annoying not like the Octopus fight where you find her then shoot. My Solid Eye NV lost battery, so I ended up using my threat ring.

It was probably his adrenaline. It happens a lot in real life. There was this one guy who was doing a BMX stunt and he landed so hard his bike snapped in half. But because he was so pumped, he was able to walk onto the stage. Minutes later when his adrenaline went down, he collapsed.

The ending was pretty interesting, although there are a couple things that I need help with understanding... Major Tom/Zero looked pretty old, but he was the same age as Big Boss, so why did he look so bent outa shape? Did Big Boss really love The Boss instead of his one-time lover, EVA? And if so, was it a love-triangle? When fighting Liquid Ocelot before that, do you fight Liquid at one point, and then Ocelot later on when you flash-back to the classic gun-draw between Ocelot and Big Boss? It was interesting how they changed the gameplay at the end, to a fighter-type game. And it flowed pretty well.

I waited 3 weeks and 2 days to get this game. I didn't have the time or urge to go get it. It's been on my desk for about 2 hours now. It's still in its plastic wrapping.



I think I'll play it nao.

Hey guys, I finished MGS4 over a week ago and started to go through my second play on Big Boss Hard, however I forgot to load the "END" save (it has one star on it so it means it was finished once). This time I am playing through but not really interested in no kills etc (I keep it to a minimum this time) but my question is I already played for over 3 hours, should I go back and replay it with the "END" save? What do I have to gain or is it a waste of time?

All the stuff (including stuff you unlocked from the B&B's as well as DB), except for iPod songs, get carried over to your subsequent play throughs. Yea, I'd say its worth it.

So it's good that it doesn't change the gameplay. I'll just skip through the cutscenes that I've seen already.

Should I play on the hardest setting (extreme)? How harder is it than Big Boss Hard? Right now I am being very sneaky but I do get some alerts here and there with BB Hard. I just wanted to take more time sneaking, last time I played it semi CoD4 style and MGS1...just wanted to see the final story. Big MGS fan.

It's annoying. I shoot down the dolls with the SVD, but I don't know where it falls, she then ends up picking it back up. And I've only got one of the dolls, I'm planning to get both so she'll be powerless.

Can you actually get both of the dolls and use it on the second playthrough, meaning during the first Act, like throwing the soldiers on the wall or something?

Both. The sorrow doll does dead people, mantis does live.

I got the sorrow doll, so that won't work against Mantis? (Might be a spoiler, not sure so I didn't put the tags in)

I think Ima go for the BB emblem when 2.4 comes out. No way I'd want to repeat doing that again for a trophy.

Oh, oh! Happy to say that I got both dolls.

It was so annoying when you had to keep pressing triangle when Snake had to go through the microwaves.

And the credits are hella long.

Haha, my PS3 is like, my little kid.

I got mgs4 today played it for 2 hours(watched it for 2 hours I should say) I am enjoying the gameplay alot.But a few things I am really hateing..First off I know it a stealth game but snake is really slow...Also the is seems like a OK FPS but no where near the real thing...I dont care or understand the plot at all... It also look realy nice...

Havent played online yet(even tho it the main res I got this game) but I will after I dont suck at it...Hope to be playing a few of you soon..

I played a little of portable ops... Never did really expect to understand the plot but I thought atlest that it be easy for first timers,like dmc4 was,,,

Not with something like MGS. Try downloading the database from the PS store or reading some summaries on Wikipedia. One of my friend's did that and he understood the story fairly well.

It would've been better to wait for the stand alone MGO disc.

I completed this the other night and have to say it's right up their with Bioshock as one of my favourite single player campaigns ever. The ending was stupidly long, I wanted to skip it at times because it was getting late and I had work the following morning.

I don't know how they think they'll make a MGS movie though, there must've been about 15 hours of cut scenes in this game.

Well the game was on sale for 52 bucks...and I had my ps3 for more than 7 months and only have 1 game for it...So I thought it time to get another....

I heard people liked and played the online mode...

Eight hours total, according to the bonus disk. Still ridiclously long to compress into a movie. I bet it will be a separate storyline.

The movie's based on the first Metal Gear Solid game. Sadly. I was hoping for an original story or it being based on MGS3.

damn that means i spent over 12 hours with the rest of the game. How the hell am I gonna ever get the BBE medal.

Wait until Kojima Pro comes up with trophy support for the game. It'll probably come soon.

I am still on the second level. I have only played 3 or 4 hours of this game.

the MGS movie is gonna suck.. they would've been better making it a CG or animated that way they could've had David Hayter doing the voice. that voice is a big part of who Snake is, i just couldn't imagine Snake sounding any different..

Finally got the play through this and really enjoyed it but WTF at the ending. Was so pissed Kojima copped out.

He went for the happy Hollywood ending, everyone survives now has a happy life to live.

Raiden some how managed to only lose an arm when crushed by a giant tanker, then in the next scene everything is fine, he's back in his body and he accepts his wife and son.

The FOXDIE in Solid isn't dangerous and he gets to live the rest of his life doing what he wants.

Sunny meets someone and decides to live outside

Meryl forgives her father and marries Johnny after being shot multiple times in the last scene

Also why was EVA holding onto the body of Solidus, couldn't she of destroyed it and prevented Liquid accessing GW.

You get your collected iPod tunes from the start. The "except" means you gotta wait until you meet up with the Mark 2 to get the rest of your stuff.

Ciaran_, Kojima's ending was that..

Spoiler for Kojima Ending:

Otacon and Snake turn themselves in for breaking the law and were after that, executed. I don't know what the Koj explanations for Raiden etc, but they were not the Hollywood style ending.

...which was vetoed by other developers.

Also I love some effects of the iPod music, especially The Fury :)

There's a long story about that involving TAPPY, Russian composers, Portable Ops, Igromania and Super Smash Brothers.

TAPPY's original MGS theme tune was stolen from a Russian Composer. This enraged some fans, who wanted this to be shown to Kojima. Igromania, a Russian game magazine gave Kojima a CD containing the original. Because of that, the MGS4 version of the traditional MGS theme plus the Portable Ops and SSBB versions of that theme tune, had to be scrapped. I believe Calling to The Night also had to have some "MGS-ish" notes removed before the game was released.

I just finished the game my 4th time My time from the first one and now decreased a lot. I finished the game in 3 hours and so minutes, and I managed to get the Assassin's Emblem. Now I am Solid Altair. :)

So many thrills on the hardest mode with a DS3, XD
But i doubt that i'll finish under 5 hours with no alerts, continues etc.
