Eternal Sonata for PS3
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=83364Tri-Crescendo's sought-after role-playing game Eternal Sonata has finally been confirmed for PS3.
That's according to the latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu (pointed out by Kotaku), which claims to have been given the go-ahead to report on it from publisher Namco Bandai. Go ahead, it probably said.
It follows musical news from yesterday that Namco Bandai had listed a PS3 version of the game on its website, before it removed it to stop us all phoning up and asking what was going on.
Eternal Sonata is loosely based around the final hours of famous composer Frederic Chopin's life, in which he is said to have entered a dream world filled with other people suffering from incurable diseases (his was tuberculosis).
Atari will be publishing the 360 version here in October, while Famitsu believes the PS3 offering will be available sometime next year (in Japan first, then Europe).
Steambot 2 on PS3
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=83370Developer Irem has puffed out its chest and confirmed that Steambot Chronicles is in development for PS3.
It's fantastically called Bumpy Trot 2 over in Japan. We'll be treated to the first trailer for it at the Tokyo Game Show later this month according to the official website.
Steambot Chronicles was released on PS2 here at the end of last year, and is described as a non-linear action-adventure game. Or more accurately as a cross between GTA and Harvest moon, according to Eurogamer reviewer Simon Parkin.
There's a weird mix of mini-games, Zelda-like action, mechanoids, harmonicas, good and evil choices and even though none of it particularly stands out, the sum of the parts made it a solid recommendation.
We'll at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show next week, so hopefully we can bring you more information then.
Maybe now not known alot cult favorite RPG games that were released on PS2 will be known in PS3.
