MGS4 Secrets/Easter Eggs

okay i thought it would be easier for people to find/look up secrets and easter eggs by making a thread just for them. so any easter eggs/secrets u find, post them in this thread. i'll keep updating the first post with them..

just found a few more too :) i really love how they've put all these little things in the game.

Spoiler for MGS4 SECRETS:

Briefing Secrets..

Act 1 Briefing:

1) battery extender
2) ammo
3) shock : otacon, campbell, snake - gives Otacon face camo


Act 2 Briefing:

1) battery extender
2) shock : otacon, snake, sunny, the remote on the desk in the middle - gives Raiden (visor closed) face camo
shocking the remote puts 3 different idol model pictures on the main screen ;D


Act 3 Briefing:

1)1) 2x ammo at the front of the helicopter - nothing more here as far as i can tell

just noticed that while in the briefings go upstaris with the MK II and there's a few more items also u can see the doll/statues that u've collected. they'll be on display across from the PS3 and radio. also try hitting the radio to make it play

How to Unlock
Bandanna Complete a single-player session without killing anyone (including bosses). You can do this on any difficulty
Desert Eagle, Long Barrel Earn the Fox emblem on a single-player session
Digital Camera In the Nomad vehicle during the mission intermission; you can unlock a special photo by picking up this item in stage 4 instead of earlier
Patriot Future Assault Weapon Earn the Big Boss emblem on a single-player session
Race (Ricochet) Gun Clear the single-player game once
Scanning Plug S Log more than 10 hours of Metal Gear Online play time on the same profile as your Metal Gear 4 game. You purchase this from Drebin
Solar Gun Collect the five statues (those of the four Battle Beauties and the Frog Soldier/Haven Troopers in stage 1) using non-lethal means on their respective idols
Stealth Item Complete a single-player session without instigating a single alert (caution is okay, but not alert). You can do this on any difficulty
Thor 45-70 Earn the Fox Hound emblem on a single-player session
World War I Pistol Earn the Hound emblem on a single-player session

iPod Tunes..
Snake's iPod can download specific tunes throughout the course of the game. Some songs have an additional "secret" effect when it is played in the game.

How to Unlock ..
Beyond the Bounds (increases stun damage done by Snake from non-lethal weapons) Stage 4 Shadow Moses, Tank Hangar. After power is restored, backtrack to the upper catwalk and explore all rooms
Big Boss (increase stun damage and increases Snake's accuracy when played) Earn the Big Boss emblem
Bio-hazard (cause soldiers held by Snake to scream in terror) Stage 3 Europe, Midtown
Destiny's Call (cause soldiers held by Snake to go enraged) A random gift from a militia or rebel soldier if Snake gives them a healing item
Flowing Destiny (cause soldiers held by Snake to weep like a little girl) Stage 4 Shadow Moses, Canyon. Before leaving the canyon area, examine the rocky walls for a hole hiding this item
Fury, The (cause soldiers held by Snake to go enraged) Stage 2 South America, Cove Valley Village. Inside the fire ravaged house
MGS 4 Love Theme / Action (cause soldiers held by Snake to weep like a little girl) A random gift from a militia or rebel soldier if Snake gives them a healing item

Rock Me (increases Snake's amount of life recovered from items and other means) Stage 2 South America, Confinement Facility. Island in the south-eastern quadrant
Sailor (increases Snake's amount of life recovered from items and other means) Stage 2 South America, Vista Mansion. Between the east wall and a cargo container
Show Time (cause soldiers held by Snake to scream in terror) A random gift from a militia or rebel soldier if Snake gives them a healing item
Snake Eater (increase the life recovery rate of Snake through items and other actions) Unlocked by earning all 40 game clear emblems
Subsistence (increase Snake's accuracy) Play at least one game of Metal Gear Online. You must start the match with at least two players

Secrets
Inheritence
You carry over your Drebin points, weapons, ammunition, items, and special items from a previous game upon game clear. However, Snake will need to encounter Metal Gear II in the first stage to get his stuff back.

Be sure to save your cleared data upon game completion to track your items. Load the cleared data to reap your benefits.


No More Camo..
Shake the Sixaxis controller to return Snake's Octocamo to its neutral (black and blue) pigmentation.

Dolls/Statues..
The Laughing Octopus doll is on the bed in bottom left corner of the top right room.
The Raging Raven doll is at the top of the building.
The Crying Wolf doll is directly behind you when the Beauty battle/2nd phase starts.
The Screaming Mantis doll is in the northern alcove of the room.

Other Stuff..
Another Egg is when you are asked by Otacon to enter the password at Shadow Moses, if you type in 14893 (Drebin's codec) you will hear Little Gray screech and after wards, receive 100,000 DP.

In the Liquid Ocelot fight, when you reach the 'Naked Snake v. Ocelot' portion of the fight, Ocelot will pull Snake into a stangle hold and if you don't press anything Ocelot will kiss you.

upon following the footprints, u will eventualy see handprints...follow them 2 find the teams hand prints with there signiture next to them further on.

Also, in Act 2, when following the footprints, I came across a crop circle and a vocal flashback of Campbell saying "I was driving home. I had a couple of miles to go--I looked up and saw a glowing orange object in the sky,to the east! It was moving very irregularly...suddenly there was intense light all around me"

in act 1 in the very beginning the statues when you blend in with it you grab its penis and if you let go and go back to blending in with the statue it falls off..

if you call Rose on the codec and shake your controller, her boobs will move lol

in act 3 you are not the only one doing the following..

The Mark II/III use the Sony OLED display.

After zooming in on the MKII, I noticed the supposed OLED display has way to few pixels to be an actual OLED. On the other hand, they probably just added in the OLED text shortly after CES08 and didn't want to change the look of the overall look of the display. That and I'm being too particular about it...

During the Act 2 (i think) Briefing, Sunny is playing the MSX Konami game Penguin Adventure on a PSP (use the mk. II to see her upstairs)

When controlling the Mk. II/III, Snake is holding a DualShock 3 (or maybe a SIXAXIS)

When in a Briefing, how do you control the Mk. II? I switch cameras, but I still don't control it.

When i saw this i coouldn't stop laughing.
During the battle between vamp and raiden(and your stuck fighting those F*ing gekko) Aim up at the battle above you at riaden or vamp when there near the edge, press fire and snake will say "i might hit riden" or "Gotta...watch my aim!"
but if you lucky he'll say "no...I cant do it!" which is what he says when you try to shoot liquid when grey fox is stuck on him.

p.s I actually found this out myself, no aid what so ever (im so proud)
