I see alot of people on the internet all whining about how graphics are not that great, did they really expect PS3 first party games/ports to show off what the console is really capable of?.
I personally know that isn't the case, a good example is the big change from Ridge Racer 1 to Ridge Racer 4 on PS1, it makes you realize the graphics will always look better year after year. Or Burnout on PS2 from the very generic B1 to the amazing Burnout Revenge, the evolution of the visuals is something that always interesting. So just imagine how RFOM 2...3, ect will be or the latest Elder Scroll or Fight Night round 5.
But this goes both ways, even if someone goes nuts over the visuals for RFOM/ oblivion/motorstorm/fight night 3 they should always keep in mind these are 1st gen games so going nuts isn't really necessary.
To me I ALWAYS keep the mentality that these games look 100 times better then anything my eyes saw on PS2 for the past 6 years, having that on your mind keeps you grounded and keeps you away from overreacting over visuals(either good or bad).
