I recently won a PS3 by spending two dollars on an arcade game. Okay, technically I won a gift card to best buy with $629.99 on it. Anyway, I'm considering buying this, but I need to know how PS2 games look on it.
Not too long ago I saw a video with Final Fantasy X running on a PS2 compared to it running on a PS3, and the PS3 version looked incredibly cruddy and jaggies ran rampant. I also heard somewhere that there was a firmware update that either fixed this or at least softened the edges of the game's graphics. So do PS2 games look cruddy still or are they now looking like the smooth running games we've come to expect?
Other questions: Should I just go ahead and buy the PS3 and get some PS2 games and Oblivion (that will be coming out of my pocket), and then if I decide I don't like it, trade it in for something else? Or should I just buy a PS2, games, a PSP, games, and then save the remaining $200 or so to save up for when the PS3 has more games?
I was also contemplating buying a Wii and PSP, or PS2 (or Wii) and a TV...
Respond as quick as you can! I'm most likely going to best buy tomorrow, and I need to know! Thanks in advance!
