How about the linux browser? I heard it can play runescape and such. If you had the choice would you use your ps3 as a computer?

The Linux browser is like your typical Firefox browser. It's the same thing afterall.
I use mine for emulators, and that's it. SNES on the big screen rocks.

bought my 80gb $499 at target and i am definitely happy i bought it. i own 3 games: COD4,R:FoM, and MotorStorm(if it wasn't free this would not have been purchased.) The web browser is a huge let down considering the fact that the ps3 is all cutting edge and whatnot but o well i have a computer for the internet.
Yes the wii web browser is really great tho total shock tho seeing as the one for Ds sucked and the one for psp rocked..
the web browser for the DS was a free one the put in a cartridge and sold for £30 (without an SD card so it didn't even work on its own!) and it didnt even fit to size - made me lol when i saw it xD
the ps3 browser ain't that bad jeez - the starting of downloads is very quick and it works accurately with analog or going from link to link with the d-pad - just a few things that seem wrong after using the psp browser but itISN'T the psp

i'm happy with my purchase, i'll give it a 6 out of 10... that will probably become an 8 or 8.5 when it gets hacked and homebrew comes out
if homebrew takes advantage of the hardware the PS3 has onboard, i'd give it a 9 or 9.5!

it sold for about $30 here in the us, and it comes with a memory expansion pack if you buy from a legit source (the memory expansion pack is required to run the browser). the expansion pack fits in the GBA slot in the frontZitat:

i do prefer it over other consoles... i have a wii sports sitting in the corner, still in it's box. i bought it before my ps3 (i love the manhunt games), but it's going to sit there until i either get manhunt 2 for the wii or someone offers to trade for a ps3. or i might just give it to sis. she likes nintendo games
I'm happy i was able to sell that crap off to my friend. PS3 and Xbox 360 both suck, no good games. And yes my PS3 was collecting dust.

On xbox Halo 3 was a terrible mistake. I now know exactly how the Halo 1 ppl felt about Halo 2. But halo 2 was actually playible, halo 3 is screwed up beyond belief. Which is too be expected. FYI bungie has basically been selling out halos soul after halo 1 to make it more profitible. Halo 2 was more n00b then Halo 1 and Halo 3 is extermely n00bified compared to halo 2. Then COD4 is a step up but its not OMG next gen amazing IMO.
On PS3 resistance sucks after a week and not including a mic with the console has made MP suffer since no one can talk. Heavenly sword is garbage and MG4 and FF13 arent really worth justifing a console
Wii is basic nintendo. Good for only nintendo games. Which I am not the biggest fan off.

- you "figured out" the story of bioshock. good for you. but, that doesnt mean the game isnt good. hell, most everyone knew what the ending of GoW I was gonna be. I agree with some of your points (Heavenly sword :p), however, you make too many conclusions too early. You might be right, by all means, but we're not even close to the point where we can decide that.
I really liked Heavenly Sword, but I can't believe I payed $60 for 5 hours of enjoyment. Maybe I'll start hell mode....
I was talking about the video game industry as a whole. Xbox 360 and PS3, they are really almost identical anyways. Most games come out on both systems. This isnt like ps1 v n64 where both consoles had a distinctly difference video game line-up.Zitat:

The way i see it, you ened 2 things to make a good video game. 1st is high production value and the 2nd is a good unique game. Unfortuently the trend games for the last few years has been on purely selling games, you cant blame the devs for wanting to make money tho. So they reuse the same archtypes and make sequels for games will bigger production value. Those games sell a lot of copies but they arent good. If i have played RPGs for 10 yr, I am tired of redoign the same rehashed story, same goes with FPS and all types of games.
I dont want to pay 600 bucks for a PS3 that i will be replaying the react same games with better graphics. I want new games, okami is a good example of a unique game but thats rare now and is gonna be even more rare in the future. Oh and your right, you can justify the price of the ps3 with bluray but at the same gaming wise, it still isnt worth 600.

I have mixed feelings about portal. I did like it but i beat it with the code to make portals on all the walls. If i just played it the way it was meant to be played, i would say the game is way too frustrating. So even tho i did like portal, i didnt really enjoy it that much.Zitat:
