this is just mindless speculation with hardly any testing, just asking other bd-j developers. also is this is in the wrong section please move it,
my speculation is if streaming mp3 files from the web is possible, we could build a server, as a streaming mp3 sound streamer. send it the tone, volume, and all that through a simple http request. and it would create the wave inside the stream already sending. im not quite sure if i can get the point across so heres a simple diagram.
|ps3|----->|remotly generated mp3 file| = begin streamage
|ps3 sends wave tone|------>|gen mp4| = tone is sent to ps3
it does seem plausable in my mind, but i dont have the sound know how to get it done(in time, as i would need way to much studying), and i dont know how to stream mp3s from the bd-j system (yet), and also you can make the streams have id's so the server knows what stream to add the waves to.
