Sony vs. third party controller manufacturers
so recently, sony said unlicensed ps3 controllers may explode. manufacturers of these controllers apparently aren't too happy with said accusation by sony, like sunflex.
i gotta wonder though why they only settled for releasing an official statement denouncing sony's allegations. i would have thought that they would have found it an opportune time to sue sony for damages. after all, it's their reputation as manufacturers at stake. and it's not just any simple accusation of faulty merchandise. it's an accusation that alleges danger on the part of the product -- one that their company could be held liable for.
anyhow, i personally have not heard of any "exploding" third-party controllers, so maybe sony's just overreacting. or maybe they're just shutting out their controllers competitions for good. i wouldn't put it past them, really.
what's your take on this?
