I doubt Microsoft will make it more than 200...Zitat:

Your missing the point. The PS3 is the only Blu Ray player anyone can afford. Plus you dont have any Blu Ray discs in a major store chain like BestBuy. Basically Sony and the PS3 needs to create a Blu Ray market. This isnt PS2 and DVD since back then DVD already had a market. Sony needs to get enough PS3s sold and enough ppl to want to buy Blu Ray movies so that the Movie Studios start releasing Blu Ray movies. Look how good Sony did with making UMD movies a huge success. They didnt and UMD movies are failing just as Blu Ray will.Zitat:

But you still need a 360 to use it. So we can say it will prob. be 500-, less then any other HD DVD player or Blu Ray player.Zitat:

Yeah, it's not a stand-alone player. It's simply an attachment for the 360.Zitat:

Quote as much crap as you want if the space was needed we'd be at least close to filling a DVD9.
If all last gen games were 8gb i would be praising Sony for blu ray since we would actully need it then. As of right now games like GTA dont even use a DVD9.Zitat:

whoever still has a vhs player.... wont spend a thousand dollars on a bluray player.
I'm sure that exactly the market they are aiming for.
Just to clear things up a bit, blu-ray will not cost 1000 when it becomes the norm, Dvd players were very expensive when they were first released,500ish, the price will drop and btw why not buy a ps3? its pretty much better than Xbox 360 in everyway, think about it, Xbox= no blu-ray which will be dominant(looks at list of companies that support BD) Xbox 1 tflop of power???? ps3=2tflops. Sony= Big big library of games(ps1, ps2) oh yea not to mention that it won't need stupid files to be placed on the harddrive in order for older games to be played.(xbox360 needs to play xbox games) Sony has major game developers support (square enix), many franchises to bring in (final fantasies, dragon quests, dmc, and many more franchises) what does MS have? HALO???? oooh ahhh (run around in circles more) Dead or Alive???(oooh wait DoA has hot girls ^^) but ok, back to the subject of blu ray, looking at the games that ps3 will bring, omg gfxxxxxx!!! damn, thats gonna be alot of space needed. almost 3x as much detail in one picture as a ps2 game, err can't say much to that. so a dvd9 will probably not work, it might work for one or two launch ps3 games. Anyhow $600 for a ps3 is hella worth it, comes with a blu ray drive, a hdd, hd support, ps3 games all for just about 600!!!, god 600 isn't that bad, ps2 release = $500, i bought one as well as many of my friends except for one idiot, who went along into waiting for another console (xbox) now that friend has a ps2 as well(he was magnetised by DMC, God of war so on)
first of all the ps2 was $300 when it launched.
second.the xbox had 2x the flops of a ps2 but was it 2x as great? no
third it doesnt come with ps3 games...
