They've already began paying Immersion the quarterly $7 million dollar royalties since they were found liable for damages and will obviously continue to do so when Playstation 3 debuts. Nothing is up in the air at this point other than the appeals process that Sony will or will not have to pay the backpay. erm...i know a LOT about how the body works actaully, especially the muscles and bones as im an artist who draws the human body quite often. and i dont care what your uncle thinks about it. the FACT is, sontrollers were designed in the past to have you hold them a certain way. your hands are out in front of your torso and your elbows rest comfortably at your side. the way the gif KON produced has teh ulna and radius pointing outward considerably. that is NOT comfy no matter who you are and your body isnt designed for that type of thing for many hours at a time. i know a good amount about the hand bones and wrists and what puts torques on them as im also a college pitcher and my wrists are a huge part of my success. you dont need to insult my intelligence with your petty grimacing at everything i post to make yourself look intelligent.Zitat:

it doesnt matter. they are STILL restricted from showing off any new controller or other use of that feature until its paid in FULL. and no, they most certainly are NOT free to use the tech in NEW PRODUCTS, such as the ps3 until their royalties are paid in full to immersion. immersion will just get anotehr cease and desist order filed for ps3 when it launches if their tech is in it and they havent paid for it all. the only item they can still sell as of right now until things get paid off is the dual shock/ps2 stuff and only b/c its in appellette and its not legal to file those for cases still in deliberation.Zitat:

ztype tell me, why havent sony said anything about the rumble feature, a feature that is ALWAYS part of a new console's spec sheet? how come the controller is FAR too small for taht type of feature? whether you like it or not, that current ps3 controller has no rumble feature in it and unless the sony rep at e3 lied, there wont be one until they pay the back royalties in full.

They've been a licensor, albeit unwillingly, since July. They have to pay 1.3% of their quarterly profits made from PS2 consoles and several games. Common sense says they will either continue to negotiate the terms for licensing the technology in their next generation controller, or they will develop their own proprietary format. They're not just going to shrug off a key feature entirely over this.Zitat:

There's no way to know what it's in it quite frankly because no one is saying so. It will feature some kind of force feedback simply because every console that has come out within the last decade has, and for Sony to forego it would border on idiocy and could be equated to Sony using a cartridge based format on PS3.
