What is the difference between the 20GB and 60GB configurations?
The 60GB solution includes memory stick, secure digital and compact flash readers, Wi-Fi, and a 60GB hard disk drive (HDD). The 40GB contains no card reader and has no PS2 BC capabilities.

How do the PSP System and PLAYSTATION 3 work together?
The PSP can act as a remote control to PLAYSTATION 3. Additionally, you can transfer content from the PSP to PLAYSTATION 3 via memory stick or USB. Ultimately, the developer community has creative license on how they would like the PSP and PLAYSTATION 3 to interact. For example, in Formula One, the developer used the PSP as a rear-view mirror.
Can I still play my PlayStation 2 games, DVD movie, and CD music collection on PLAYSTATION 3?
Yes, you can play the majority of PlayStation and PlayStation 2 software titles as well as your DVD and CD collection on PS 3. Currently there are problems with a small number of PS and PS2 games. 40GB SKU will not play PS2 software
How do I save my PlayStation 2 Memory Card information to PLAYSTATION 3?
To use saved data on a PlayStation 2 memory card, you must copy the data onto a virtual memory card within the hard disk. This requires a PS2/PSone memory card adaptor to copy the data to your PLAYSTATION 3. A memory card adaptor is designed to edit, up/download game saves to and from EMS flash card or smart media card.
Will the PlayStation 3 use the same network setup as the PlayStation 2?
No, Sony will implement a greatly extended hub system, which is how all of the PlayStation 3's community features will work across each and every game.
The PS3's online network allows for friends lists, downloadable content (free and purchased via micropayments), voice and video chat (including in-game) and more. Games and demos will be able to be downloaded to the hard drive, and the PSP will interface with the PS3 in order to download content for the handheld. Using the Remote Play option, you'll be able to stream video, music and images to your PSP from the PS3.
The service will be free of charge, including general online play. The only things you'll have to pay for is some premium downloadable content and subscriptions to select games, like MMOs.

What is Blu-ray?
Blu-ray is the name of an optical disc format. The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD)
How much data can you fit on a Blu-ray disc?
A single-layer disc can fit 25GB
A dual-layer disc can fit 50GB
To ensure that the Blu-ray Disc format is easily extendable (future-proof) it also includes support for multi-layer discs, which should allow the storage capacity to be increased to 100GB-200GB (25GB per layer) in the future.
How much video can you record on a Blu-ray disc?

How fast can you read/write data on a Blu-ray disc?
Currently the only speeds supported are 1x speed (36Mbps) and 2x (72Mbps).
What video codecs will Blu-ray support?
MPEG-4 AVC High and Microsoft's VC-1 video will be mandatory. They will also include MPEG-2 support for playback of HDTV recordings and DVDs.
What audio codecs will Blu-ray support?
Blu-ray players must supports Dolby Digital AC-3, DTS, and linear PCM (up to 7.1 channels) and Dolby Digital Plus, and lossless formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD are player optional.
Will Blu-ray discs require a cartridge?
No, new hard-coating technologies has made the cartridge obsolete. Blu-ray will instead rely on hard-coating for protection, which when applied will make the discs more resistant to scratches and fingerprints while still preserving the same look and feel. The adoption of hard-coating will also allow manufacturers to downsize players/drives and lower their overall media production costs.

Will Blu-ray replace DVD?
It's still too early to say. In the end it's up to the movie studios to decide in what format they release their movies, so they will play a big part in the decision of which format becomes the standard for high-definition movies and the successor to DVD. The two formats will most likely co-exist for quite some time until high-definition takes over and becomes the norm.
What's the difference between Blu-ray and DVD?
Blu-ray allows films to be stored in high definition (1080p) at higher bitrates and allows supports higher quality 7.1 sound tracks.
Will Blu-ray be backwards compatible with DVD?
Yes, although it's up to each manufacturer to decide if they want to make their products backwards compatible with DVD
Is Blu-ray the same thing as HD-DVD?
No, HD-DVD is the name of a competing optical disc format developed by Toshiba and NEC. The format is quite different from Blu-ray, but also relies heavily on blue-laser technology to achieve a higher storage capacity. The format is being developed within the DVD Forum as an official successor to the current DVD technology.
What's the difference between Blu-ray and HD-DVD?
HD-DVD supports the same audio and video codecs but has a capacity of 15 GB per layer and is cheaper to make.
Blu-Ray and HDMI Information
Blu-Ray movies and games will play on standard TVs
Maximum Resolution for games, with component, HDMI or DVI is 1080p. It is up to the developers to decide what resolutions to support so 1080p is not available for every game.
You cannot get high definition with composite cables (the traditional Red, Yellow, White)
Exception: ICT, a copy protection security may be used in movies in the future. Movies with this feature will lower the resolution on movies on not viewed on a HDMI connection.
HDMI can connect to a DVI connection (via an adaptor [used on LCD and Plasma monitors]) for High-Definition Games, Blu-ray Movies, etc.
