Here's how I got my PS3

just because ppl can afford to miss work and camp out for something over-priced doesn't mean they have a life. it means they work a lot. sure that constitutes a life, but not one worth living. i'd rather have time AND money to enjoy my life. not spend it in front of an expensive paperweight playing 1 GAME!!

and im basing the console's worth on how much fun there is to be had as well. thats been my point thru this whole thread. and the only fun there is to be had with any system is with it's games. and the only game to have fun with (that you can't enjoy just as well on a 360, or even a ps2/xbox for less graphics) is RESISTANCE! THAT IS SADLY IT! saying any other game is just a lame attempt at justifying the purchase.

so how can you have any more fun with this besides resistance?

that is exactly my point. only after atleast a few more months will this thing begin to be worth 600+. but until then, it is not worth 600+ (in the eyes of those who enjoy games, and not a cheap blu-ray player), nor is it worth losing the sick days or cut in pay to freeze your ass off only for the joy of playing 1 game.

I've had plenty of fun with the linux booting and getting stuff running, i also had penty of fun with motorstorm, watching blu-ray movies on my 62" hdtv and playing ps1 classics on my psp via playstation store, as well as plenty of fun playing the various demos and blast factor.

The issue here is, you won't see this fun if you go into it looking for reasons to be a fanboy and flame the system.

I also find it quite funny that you make such a big deal about saying how games are the important thing, yet spend most of your post either directly or indirectly moaning about the consoles price, poor you i guess, litterally.

You've made these same points repeatedly, still, no one gives a f***. Can you not grasp the futility of bashing the PS3 in a thread for PS3 owners, in the PS3 section of this forum?

You'd probably be alot better off spouting your negative opinions in the Wii or 360 sections of the site where you'll be more likely to find more people that agree with you, people that actually care...

im 'moaning' about the consoles price because im not gonna pay a ridiculous amount of money to enjoy one game. or maybe a few games if i try hard enough to like them. but most of those decent games can be found on other systems. the games are what i care about, and im not gonna pay 600+ to play a few decent games. clear enough?

i don't have any intention of being a fanboy, nor am i being one. i have looked at all of the games/specs/features and everything for the ps3, BEFORE I HAD AN OPINION OF THE PS3, and have come to these conclusions.

it's funny. they only defense you guys have is calling me a fanboy and saying you don't care. thats funny. call me a fanboy all you want, it doesn't make it true. oh and i guess you can play your ps1 games and noodle with linux (wait, don't they have computers for that?). Even though I didn't get to sell the extra PS3 I have, I still think that it was well worth it....camping out in a tent, meeting new people, having lots of interesting conversations, being on the news a couple of times, and most importantly, having fun.

One of the guys that I was in line with recently called me and said that he found a video on YouTube of me being interviewed by Fox 5 News.

I'm gonna try and go ahead and find that video and I'll post it up here for everyone to see :)

my dad and i (im only 13) went to circuit city on wednesday, and we didn't think that they would have any, but they had 2 left in stock! both 60gig! so we bought both of them, 1 to keep, and 1 to sell on ebay. we sold it on ebay for 1,290 USD!!!!!!! can u believe that!

i paid 450 pounds for mine.. i just hope it doesn't go the way of the dreamcast.. personally i don't think it will but the sony sure seems to have done a great job of making sure that the ps3 starts off with a mountain to climb.. a console is only as good as it's games and some of the games on the xbox360 are starting to look real good - this is what sacres me more than anything else..

true but i admire the ps3 engineering - it is truly a work of art and worth every penny! i like to support sony for what they have tried to do with the ps3. i actually do think there is nothing as revolutionary on the market as the ps3. if you have got a ps3 infront of you you will realise that sony really did make an effort in designing something unique - something i can never expect microsoft to create. everything about the ps3 says class! hope i am not classified as a sony fanboy (i owned a ds, wii and xbox) but comparing an xbox 360 with a ps3 is like comparing the ds with a psp.. the xbox360 looks like a toy whilst the ps3 is so much more than a toy. but as we all know - the ds kicked the psp proverbials and hence style and substance isn't everything.

although i own a xbox, i really don't want to support the xbox360 since i don't like the way microsoft crushes every competitor it comes across. most developers continue to support the xbox360 but i think they prefer a world where there is an alternative to the microsoft - here's hoping that these developers will always support the sony because it is the only viable alternative to steamroller that is microsoft.

Well... it's because of people like you (gamers and developers alike) that the PS1 won against the SNES and the Sega Saturn... and then again, it was also because of people like you that the PS2 won against the N64, the NGC, the DreamCast, and the XBox. Now, it's also because of people like you that the PS3 is climbing back up from the base of the moutain. You may not realize it but by supporting the console, you boosted its chances of staying on top. I won't deny that I am a Sony supporter myself... not for the fact that they are the best company around or for the fact that PS3 is the best console around... or not even for the fact that I hate Microsoft or Nintendo (which I actually don't... I just don't like the fan boys' silly ways) but it's all just because they made the PlayStation and then the PlayStation 2... and I swear to god... they gave me some "WHOO" times with really really enjoyable and entertaining experiences with my friends and my families. What I am doing right now is thanking them by supporting them with their next entertainment system... which supposedly has impressed me a whole lot... with all of those eye-bursting Blu-Ray movie titles... (Dude... are those... dusts on Tom Cruise's hair? What the...?) and one awesome Christmas gift: GT HD Concept, which is by far the most impressive racing game I've ever played... it's only a little bit less fun than BurnOut but... if BurnOut on the PS3 is going to be like that, boy is this a good console!

P/S: Yeah... I'm a racing addict. :P Racing games are just sooooo cool!
