Alright well my technology-challenged father approached me today and informed me that he had purchased a blue-ray player for about 900$. He also stated that it does not work with our living room TV (and for good reason, it's not an HDTV... or even an Enhanced TV.) I immediately continued to inform him that i had bought a next-gen dvd player in the form of an HD-DVD extension for the Xbox360 in the Game Room, however he was dead set on having one for the main living room.
So i told him, first off you can save a couple hundred bucks and get the best Blue-Ray player out on the market right now in the form of the PS3. And i seem to have convinced him into letting me make these big important high def decisions.
My questions to you are:
1) How easy is the PS3 interface to navigate? Can an old immigrant couple be able to learn the ins and outs in order to watch Blue-Ray movies?
2) Is the Blue-Ray player in the PS3 a good one? Or is it a cheap knockoff Sony put in the systems in order to try and save some money on overall production costs.
3) Does the PS3 have wi-fi capabilities? Since this will be in the living room it wont have a cat5 extension for an internet connection.
4) Is an HDMI cable included in the PS3? And does it display Movies in full 1080p (so i know how powerful of a TV to buy since i have read that the PS3 has trouble scaling it's video output to certain TV's etc.)
