So, simple guide to emulate this effect.. without being banned.
note : only you will see it, your friends will not.
Get these :
Icon Pack : http://www.lostnovice.com/PSNAvatarPack.rar
AnalogX SimpleserverWWW : http://www.analogx.com/contents/down...work/sswww.htm
Winrar : http://www.rarlabs.com
Then install AnalogX Simpleserver, once done, make a folder on your desktop, named "ps3http", go into this folder then open PSNAvatarPack.rar with winrar, you will see a folder called "avatar", drag this folder into your ps3http folder.
Now, whilst still in the ps3http folder, right click and select New > Text document.
Rename this file from New Text Document.txt to index.html
Now run analogx simpleserver, at the bottom is a nige big button, click it and navigate to index.html in your ps3http folder, then if it isnt already, hit start on simpleserver's window.
Now, navigate yo your hosts file..., for XP this will be windows\system32\drivers\ etc\hosts
Open it in notepad and add the following entries...
static-resource.np.community.pla ystation.net <YOUR NETWORK IP>
for example, if your computer is connected to a router, and your computers network adapter has been assigned the ip of 192.168.0.2 you would use :
static-resource.np.community.pla ystation.net 192.168.0.1
Now, assuming you know how to connect your ps3 to your pc, and use your pc's internet connection to get online on the ps3, that is all you need to do, you can go into your avatar folder in ps3http folder, find your icon, and edit it, and assuming your networks setup correctly, when you sign in, you (and anyone else) with the icon you edited, will display the icon you made yourself.
I've not tested all that extensively, but there seems to be some sort of flaw in the xmb over handling larger images, so it's be worth someone poking around with PNG vunlerabilities, using this method to have the ps3 load them into mem, as apposed to have the hypervisor handle the datastream via image viewer.
Anyway, have fun.
