Calling all EU , US and AU console owners, with a copy of resistance (any region at all).
If you know how to dump network traffic then i need you help.
Best setup would be :
Grab ethereal here : http://www.ethereal.com/
So the rundown :
Resistance is setup to use the region of your console as the region server for online play, this sucks if :
1) you dont wan't to play against other japanese console owners.
2) you bought a EU/US/AU copy of the game hoping to play your friends.
3) various other reasons.
What i need you to do, is connect everything up, START LOGGING, then start the game, go to online multiplayer, and search for a match and join it, when you've joined, stop the packet logger and either play the match and quit (polite) or just quit (impolite).
Go back to your packet logger and scroll down the list looking for playstation url's (in ethereal they're in blue), the important ones we want here, begin with resistance- so search for those and write them down in the order you find them, there will be a total of three unique ones.
Once you've found them post them here with the following info :
Console region (where it is from) :
Game region (JP/US/EU/AU/KR) :
URL 1 :
URL 2 :
URL 3 :
I'll start with my japanese copy of the game on my japanese ps3.
Console region (where it is from) : Japan
Game region (JP/US/EU/AU/KR) : JP
URL 1 : resistance-muis.scej-online.jp
URL 2 : resistance-mas.scej-online.jp
URL 3 : resistance-svo.scej-online.jp
REMEMBER : the console region is whats important here, not the game region or psn account region, the CONSOLE region
Hopefully when i have the urls for JP/US/EU/AU/KR i can write a simple proxy application to run on a pc (or possibly router) to allow you to select the region you wish to play in on resistance.
