Yeah it is possible. But it will only work as a normal gamepad. So no SIXAXIS.

The only way i know, is buy downloading that driver. But you said you've tried it already..

I'll post a link to the one I'm using. It works great.

    There: http://dl.qj.net/SIXAXIS-driver-for-...1679/catid/518

If it's the same one you're using and you're still having issues, give some more details and I'll see if I'm able to help.

What do you do? I installed filter driver, plugged in controller, ran the ps3sixaxis_en.exe, bluescreen.

Also tried to run it from command prompt and it said it had to close.

When I go to control pannel and go to game controllers it is there but it wont do anything when I try to callibrate it...

I got it to work, finally. I was playing Donkey Kong 64 :). I was only pressing the middle button shortly, like the instructions say. Try holding it in for A while. The lights flash the whole time. It's kind of annoying. Now I've used all of the console controllers as gamepads but Wii. I don't want to buy a bluetooth adapter...

The lights will always flash, if its working or not. I never got a blue screen, though. How have you been checking to see if it works?

Hmmm . . . BSOD, huh? It sounds like motherboard issue or something. Some PCs just aren't compatible with certain drivers. What kind of PC do you have?

Yeah, that happens whenever you activate the controller to work with your PC. You don't necessarily have to be far from your PS3. You can just flip the switch on the back before running the .exe and pressing the PS button.

I have a dell 6400. I think I am doing something wrong. When I try to do it, the lights just flash on the controller. What should I do? I have tried holding the switch down on the controller.

Yeah, well Dells always tend to have problems with different USB devices. I know, I using a Dell Inspiron right now. Well, as for the controller, don't hold the button after activating the .exe. First, install the driver-that "libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe". If it complains about it being installed already, do it anyway. Restart your PC and plug in the controller before it boots back up again. Run the "ps3sixaxis_en.exe" once logged in. It will show a black command prompt window for a second and close on it's own. Make sure you're PS3 is off and shut down(flip the switch from behind to prevent it from turning on) before getting to the next step. Press the PS button and it should be recognized under your device settings 'Control Panel-Gamepad'. You might have to press it multiple times, but the "ps3sixaxis_en.exe" need be only ran once. Good luck.

Ah ok, my ps3sixaxis_en.exe did that and I thought something was wrong. Will try now.

EDIT: Ok so I tried running the ps3sixaxis_en.exe from the desktop twice, got bsodded both times. I have tried compatibility mode, run as admin no use. I am going to try reinstall it now.

I also tried booting from command prompt and it loads up but the window still stays there, and then the moment I touch ym sixaxis it says ps3sixaxis_en.exe needs to close...

Hmm, sorry to break it to ya' but it sounds like it's a mobo problem with your PC. These things happen unfortunately, certain hardware just doesn't work on some PCs. But don't give up hope. There might be someone else who can help. You'll just have search a bit deeper.

If you're interested there is an alternative. Some Radioshacks have a PSX controller to USB converter. It works really well, you just plug in your PS1 or PS2 controller into the USB dock and there ya' go. It comes with the driver and everything. You also get the vibration function to work in certain emus. I had it, but I left mine back at my home in the USVI. It's like $12-not expensive.

What do you mean? I have tried it with compatibility, with running as admin and both at the same time, I have re installed. I have run it from cmd, I have run it from C:\Windows\System. All I get is bsod or ps3sixaxis_en.exe needs to close...

Plug SIXAXIS in, run the exe after unraring it all and then press PS button. If it doesnt work for me i just end up pressing the ps button multiple times, running the exe multiple times, unplugging it multiple times and going to Joystick config in windows. It works in the end :P

after you install the driver, try a program called "Pinnacle Game Profiler"

it lets you map the SIXAXIS's button to whatever key you want. (it also does mouse movements)

is thier anyway to get the buttons remapped?

They are mapped like **** w/ that driver, and some games don't allow buttons above ~12/13 rendering cross, square, circle, triangle useless.

i know why you guys cant get it so ill help ya

    install that lilusb thing

    download this
    h t t p : / / w w w . p s 3 - h a c k s . c o m / f i l e / 6 8

    (remove spaces)

    extract ds3drv_1.02 to your desktop

go to my computer and click view system information in the system tasks list on the left

click hardware then device manager then click Human Interface Device

the one that says Usb Human Interface Device should be your ps3 control

double click on that and click the driver tab on the window that pops up

click update driver then click no not this time then click install from a list or specific location

click dont search then click have disk

browse to the place where you extracted ds3drv_1.02 to and click on the .inf file and it should update

    after that all should work

P.S. Pinnacle Game Profiler works best.
