Default [RELEASE/UPDATE] PS3 - Snake 1.1

here is a very simple snake game i coded.

snake speeds up and gets longer the more "apples" you eat.

includes a high score tracker.

game and source attached.

what more can i say it's snake.
[UPDATE]
updated to 1.1
changes:
-added snake head
-added apple image
[UPDATE 2]
Oops looks like v1.1 upload was bad(myfault)
i have reupdated it, please someone confirm it works now

[UPDATE 3]
-I added a dvd ISO of snake so it can be burned onto a DVD using ImgBurn tool. just download the "snake 1.1 Disk" file and un-rar it. and burn.

Oh no. It didn't work for me! I was excited... but my PS3 just went to a black screen, showed that it was playing... and stayed at the black screen.

Default Upload is perfect

The upload plays fine now! I've got to say that that game play is FAST. Maybe try myWorkerThread.sleep(75); to slow it down? Also, I second looking into adding a background image that defines the arena instead of the plain white border. Sound would be cool, if it plays a short gobble sound each time it eats the apple, and background music would be a bonus. Perhaps also adding a quick introductory splash screen would be a cool idea as well.

Very good work! I'm impressed at how fast you coded this, and with the visual improvements made over pong!

Great! This is really getting the homebrew scene going for the PS3. Hope we can get more of these, but not to the point of exploiting piracy.

Can someone tell me how you "run the AVCHD folder"?
I extracted it to the root of my SD memory card, but it's not doing anything.

SD cards dont work i think, only USB drives, and memory stick pro duo's

Default Dvd Version Of Snake 1.1

Ok i looked into an earlyer post by silenoz on my pong thread on how to make dvd complient bdj disks.

for now, we can only put one homebrew on a memory card, which can be annoying copying back and forth to play different games. so i made an iso for snake 1.1 to burn to a dvd.

this way we can have a dvd for each game, and no more copy/recopy of your homebrew

the iso file can be burned by Imgburn free tool (google it).

the iso file can be found in the first post of this thread attached.

Actually it's not too hard to do a homebrew launcher but I haven't much time these days... you just need to define one bdjo per jar file, let's say 00001.bdjo and 00001.jar for the homebrew n°1, 00002.bdjo and 00002.jar for homebrew n°2, etc... (see bdjo.jar tool in hdcookbook) and code one first title jar named 00000.jar (like the ones you are coding ) which can launch these bdjos, by using a BDLocator URL like "BD://JAR:00001"
Actually the hardest thing is to make a beautiful menu

I'll try to make one before the end of the week
