Default [Release]PS3 BD-J NES Emu and Filer

1. Download the file from this link:http://qj.net

2.Extract the the AVCHD folder in the compressed file to the main root of a USB device or memory stick

3.Place the roms you would like to play into the AVCHD you have just extracted to the root

4.Go to the Video section in the XMB on your PS3

5.You will need to click the USB or memory stick you have chosen

6.Select the BD-J homebrew game

7.Next, you will be brought to a file viewer in which, you may choose roms.

8.Now the game will start. Press the triangle button then go to the numeric pad

9.The 1 on the pad stands for select and the 2 acts as start

10.You may now press triangle and enjoy the game

this is legit? like it loads roms from anywhere off the memstick or whatever? cause i remember being told that java on the PS3 doesnt have access to folders, and I'm assuming that means no file browsing...

I'll try it when I get home though

Can you save the games data so you can continue playing at a later time?

No, you CAN play it. Just use the numeric pad in the menu. 2 is to start the game, 1 is select. will upload a vid soon.

Great job to whoever coded it. I just tried out a few roms, besides not having sound, they worked ok.
Whoever coded this just proved a few things.
1. A NES emulaor in BD-J is possible.
2. You can view and select multiple files on a usb device, as long as it´s inside the AVCHD folder.
Really nice work from whoever coded it.

getting sound is going to be a serious problem in bd-j though.

This is really interesting. Is the nes emulator coded in java? If so, will any other emulation be possible through java, or is it too limited for anyhting more serious?

I'm sure SNES would be possible. Just check around for Java emulators to see what is and isn't possible.
