Does the quality of a HDMI cable effect the quality of the picture at all? I'm looking and finding cables priced between £20 - £100!
And could someone recommend a modem for me to use please. Thanks :)

the quality of the cables shouldn't effect the quality
here are some cheapies
and by modem do you mean a router?

The quality of cables only matters in extremely long runs, and even then, the effect is negligible (according to Robert Heron from DL.TV).
Yeh, router sorryOriginally Posted by Greyone

linksys routers are good
never had a problem with mine kicking me off or anything (with multiple people on at once)
I also havent noticed any change in speed between a computer plugged into it compared to a computer using a wireless card

I don't know about everyone else but it did affect my DVD Player. I bought a $120.00 Monster HDMI cable and a $50.00 Acoustic Research HDMI cable, and the Acoustic Research cable is terrible, hell the component cables that came with the DVD Player were better than it.Originally Posted by Cymru
Too late now I've ordered one for £5 lol. It does say that it's capable of 1080p so it should be fine :)Originally Posted by killingscum
Both of them are ridiculously overpriced.Originally Posted by killingscum
I bought a £10 ($20) HDMI cable for my PS3 and it's flawless. There's no reason at all to ever buy a stupidly expensive one.
@Cymru: Even tho you don't need wireless at the moment it's always worth getting so that you have one for future use. You never know when you'll need it. It's cheaper in the long run. Plus one less cable to go to your PS3.
Mind telling me what HDMI cable you bought? I would defiantly want to buy a good HDMI cable on the cheap.Originally Posted by Phil
Yeah it said HDMI on the package.Originally Posted by killingscum
Here's how I bought it. Go to Ebay.co.uk (or .com) and type in HDMI cable, hit search. Find the cheapest Buy it now possible and buy it.
How many times does it need to be said that a cheap HDMI cable is just as good as an expensive one.
$20! I got mine for around $10 after shipping, check newegg.comOriginally Posted by Phil

Ehh link? Doesn't sound like something I'd say at all.Originally Posted by go_2_that
I was more than likely saying no TV's have HDMI 1.3a which is still pretty rare. A TV with HDCP is essential if you want to get HD from everything.
