Ok I'm going to be getting a new HDD for my PS3 in the mail soon and was wondering how to back up all the data on it using the backup utility, the PS3 says that I need about 45gb of space to back up the stuff.
Now heres where it gets tricky I do have a 320gb external already It does have enough free space for the PS3 but it is not formated to FAT32 so I can't use it and I don't want to format it as it has a lot of important stuff on it already. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a program that can format a partition on the drive without erasing any data. Thats my first problem.
EDIT: Problem 1 solved I used Partition Magic to format 50gb to FAT32.
The second problem is that I have Linux on my PS3 as well, and I'm pretty sure that does not get backed up with the backup utility. So Im also wondering If anyone knows how to back that up and also restore it, like if I could burn the whole thing on to a couple DVD's and install it like a regular Linux install. I have YDL by the way.
Thanks for any response and help.
