Hi need help and fast
I just bought FIFA 11 on the PS3 and when I went to play it I received an error message "80010514" which prompts an option to come up suggesting a course of action:
• Check that the disc is clean and free of damage. Clean disc if necessary.
• Use another Blu-ray Disc (Such as a PlayStation 3 game disc) and check that it works properly.
If none of the items here resolve the issue, write down error code “80010514” and then contact technical support for assistance.
Firstly the disc is spotless just being new that very day and also I bought Dead Rising 2 along with FIFA 11, yet Dead Rising 2 works perfectly and I also checked all of my other PS3 games and not a problem. I took the game back to HMV were I bought it from and they tried it on a console and the disc worked, at that point I was wondering if it was my PS3 but what I don’t get is that why would only FIFA 11 not work ?. I looked over the internet EA Forums and PS3 forums and such and a lot of people only seem to be having this problem with only FIFA 11 but also there are many cases of people getting the error with other games. I have had my PS3 since the UK launch way back on the March 23, 2007 and this is the first time I have encountered a problem, I have a 60GB original model and is fully update with firmware. I know the best option is to contact Sony as the “suggested actions” advises you to but I have read across the internet that it could be a problem with the Blu-ray drive and possibly the laser and Sony will fix the problem for £100-140. Before I contact them I wanted to see if anyone has found a solution to the problem. If anyone on the forum could help it would be greatly appreciated, I thought that maybe one of you guys could help.
