Downgrading to V.3.41?
Hi, I just stumbled on this website on google and read about some cheat dongle here. After reading through some of the treads about it, It's come to my understanding that I would need my PS3 firmware to be version 3.41. I want to get the dongle but I am very new to this hacking thing and don't want to mess up my ps3.
My system is currently running the latest version 1.6 and I was wondering if it can be downgraded to 3.41? From what I've read the dongle can only downgrade from 3.55 and 3.50. It doesn't mention anything about 3.6, which makes me think it can't be done.
After doing some more searching I've found nothing on how to downgrade from 3.6 and a few post saying you can't do it. Now I was thinking, can't you just do a system restore or system reformat to get your PS3 back to version 1.0 then install the 3.41 manually from a usb card?
If this is possible then I will buy the cheat dongle and try it out.
Also, does anyone know if you can unlock trophies using this cheat dongle?
Forget about it , you can't use any dongle to downgrade your V3.6 system,at least you can't do it now. All of the jailbreak items or CFWs are only available on V3.55 or lower system, you can wait until another Geohhot(PS3 developper) to jailbreak the V3.6, don't know when exactly this would happen. So all you can do now is wait and still play your PS3 with blu-ray game disk....... it is not thay simple that just do a system restore or system reformat to get your PS3 back to version 1.0 then install the 3.41 manually from a usb card? don't try any other ways beofre the official method comes out ..or it will brick your PS3 forever... hope my answer can help you .
Yeah erick is right.
Also if you plug a dongle on 3.56 then it stay forever on service mode, i don't know if this happen to 3.60 too so be careful.Take a look here http://forums.qj.net/ps3-news/175526...de-3-56-a.html
Ah and something more.Do not update your PS3 if a newer OFW released.I guess we will have a 3.60 CFW soon or at least a JB tool. :D
OK well thanks for the replies. While I was waiting for a response I tested out the system restore and fully formatted my PS3 and it didn't work. My firmware was still 3.6, I guess Sony thought of everything, or I'm just making noob attempts at going about this lol. I'll just wait the pros to do their thing then.
You can't remove the FW with this way :p
