Hi, im new to QJ net forums and forums in general, but i came across a very unique problem with my PS3 today. It is a Second gen slim i believe. I was playing Borderlands, and while i was in a shop selling items, the PS3 froze. So having experienced games freezing on me in the past i just decided to reset the system. When the system rebooted, i was expecting the standard "classic" theme to load with the warning message. However the last image of Borderlands appeared. The normal start up sounds were present as well. I tried to go into safe mode to see if it would reset the screen. That didn't work, so i tried to unplug the system and restart it again. The same frozen image was on the screen. I then unplugged it and let it sit for roughly half an hour and repeated the process once again, still with no progress.
Then i had the idea to use my RGB cables that came with my PS2 and hook it up that way. It worked! So i went to the display setting and reverted it back to using the HDMI connection and everything was back to normal.
Has anyone ever had this problem before, and if so can you give me detailed information on what might have been the problem please.
Thank you :)
