Question regarding audio output
Not sure if this is the right forum for this so I apologize in advance if it's not.
I'm trying to connect my PS3 with an HDMI>DVI cable since my HDTV doesn't have an HDMI slot. The problem is that DVI can only process the video and there is no audio.
My question is: what cable would I need to make audio available as well without losing the digital video connection?
Currently I'm using a component cable which works fine but it's still analog signal. Also I know that the Wii and 360 have special HDMI to Component cables made for them.. would they work for the PS3 as well?
And finally I tried outputting the audio through sound settings on the PS3 with an optical cable but it still wouldn't do it. And for that matter trying to output the audio through the component while the video is through the HDMI doesn't work either.
