Default gentoo install...

Hi,

I tried to install Gentoo, and I did everything that is written on the "how to".

everything goes well until the last step : when I reboot the PS3 and remove the gentoo cd.

the PS3 restarts and the there is an error message saying something about kboot, it's like : " unexpected "(" character "

the error message is endlessly repeating itself and the screen is scrolling.
I can't get back to the prompt.
it looks like that : (i can't remerber exactly the message)

error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
error***************kboot **********unexpected"("ch aracter****
...

does someone know what this problem is???
please help!!

thank you.

I've already tried twice and I had the same problem...
I think I'll try Fedora.

Or maybe you can use the "Fixing a gentoo install" instructions and making sure that your kboot.conf looks exactly like the one in the example!

I checked the kboot.conf but it was exactly the same as the "how to".

I've installed fedora core now.

thank you.
