Default ydl install freezes....

Hi,

I've been following the guide in this section to install ydl on my ps3 with a standard tv.

I get past the first kboot prompt (and enter 'installtext').

Next i'm prompted to select language - which goes ok,
then keyboard type - after selecting uk (or us - tried both) the window disappears and i'm left with a blue hole on the screen with a bit of green text in the background (looks like the traceback error that your meant to ignore)
and nothing happens!

Help! any suggestions ?
(BTW using an RGB connection to the TV in case it makes any odds)

Tried restarting a couple of times but the same thing happens.

managed to get back to ps3 os ok using 'boot-game-os' command after restarting install - i.e. from kboot prompt (doing a CTRL-ALT-DEL on keyboard restarts the install as well)

Have you got a usb drive plugged in?

Mine was freezing in the same place, after i chose the keyboard layout (athough on the GUI install) when i had my usb drive plugged in, but was ok after i took it out.

Since installing and plugging usb drive back in, it hasn't hung.

i hadnt realised I could take it out at this stage - I assume the otheros.bld/otheros.self has been accessed by this time.

yes - usb drive plugged in was the problem.

So extra install step is : before selecting language remove usb drive!

install in progress as I type this.

Many thanks for the tip
