YDL & HD configuration

I have searched the web for a dumbed down way of getting YDL to default to 1080i but I am very thick and I cannot get it to work. Questions :-

1) what do I enter at the Kboot prompt ? - Everytime I try, I get nowhere fast.
2) If I am trying to get to YDL Text, what comes after this.
3) If, and I suspect it already defaults to 1080i, how do i make the screen text / icons bigger, At the moment they are tiny and on a 42inch screen, that makes for total up to the screen seating.

just edit your kboot.conf and change the ps3 video mode

to make things bigger, one thing you can do is just to use 720p, since the resolution is smaller and therefore everything looks larger

otherwise, try changing the DPI and icon sizes from YDL's "control panel"
