i've seen this asked before, but i can't seem to find a clear answer as to what might be going wrong...
Before loading into the GUI the system just hangs at the kboot prompt with the warning kernel20070425 was not found
the steps i have taken are as follows
1. download new kernel rpm and copied to my ps3 running linux
2. in terminal, i typed rpm -ivx -blah blah whatever and it unpacked properly
3. (this is where i think i did something wrong) edited kboot.conf file and changed all instances of 2007.1110 to 2007.0425 (that is ydl, ydl480i, ydl1080i).....then, 2 lines after the last (the last line being ydl1080i=[whatever goes here]) i added oldydl=(whatever ydl was set to = before i edited the file)
can anyone please help me...i've searched and searched....tried it twice...after the first i had to reinstall ydl before i read somewhere that if i tabbed at kboot, i could probably boot the previous kernel (can someone verify this for me?)
not at home yet, so i haven't tried, but i'm on my way...i would greatly appreciate if anyone can help me before then....i really would love getting wifi working on my ps3 as it is in a different room from my router
Much thanks to all who considered helping...i managed to figure out what was wrong...got it working.

does anyone know if ydl does or will support wpa?
