Default Gentoo install help

On my first install, it worked, no problem. But when I tried to use KDE, I messed up and couldn't get back to fluxbox to try again, so I formated and tried again. Since then I've tried like SEVEN times to reinstall, but always skrewed it up. Now when I reboot it says "/init: eval: 1:gentoo: not found" This is getting agrivating. I've followed the guide (http://ps3wiki.qj.net/index.php/Gentoo_Howto) verbatim but it still doesn't work. I think I'm messing up in the kboot.conf, fstab.conf, or rc.conf. I've done the commands right, I know that. I read that if I messed up in one of these I could "chroot in" (?) and fix it. How to I do that?

had problems too installing gentoo , first of all had an OUT OF RANGE error caused by the resolution , after that and having done everything as the tutorial said , had problems concerning "Ethernet Device" . since it didn't detect it : had to start it manually , give Ip adress and default gateway manually and ... => TOO many problems so Switched back To YDL ( so much easier ) ...

I got it to work. I just retyped that uber long line in kboot.conf from scratch. Now when it booted, I had fluxbox and updated portage (as instructed in the howto) and emerged KDE. Then I used halt to shut down (because I had to go to work). Now when I rebooted, I can't get the terminal box (or whatever you type stuff into) to come up,so know I can't run commands. How do I relaunch it?

edit: Never mind I think I figured it out.
