Hi Guys,

I have successfully installed Ubuntu 7.04 on My PS3 v1.90
and have managed t install the latest kernal 2.6.22 too

all i'm wanting to do is use Ubuntu to run firefox and Gmail notifier
so i can browse web and send emails while not on PC and possibly
some emu's later when i'm more confident...

but my problem now is how do i activate wireless, as i cant seem
so set up a wireless connection in the manual network setup??

Please be as n00b friendly as possible as i have little knowledge of Linux
ps, step by step would be great...

Ubuntu dosent support Wi-Fi.

Nothing personal to you Some_Dude23, but

i wish people on QJ
would stop telling people Ubuntu is not able to run Wifi...

If you look harder.. you'll find Ubuntu "is" WiFi Enabled with the
2.6.2.2 Kernel (google : psubuntu *cough* forums for more info)

and i have managed to get the wifi setup on my ps3, but cant seem
to figure out how to connect my netgear router... I enter my SSID and
details but firefow still wont load anything.

Ok so I finally got around to installing ubuntu.

I also used this guide http://psubuntu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=449
Read it carefully. I have the same monitor as this guy, so I just copied the kboot file. There is a link to getting the right video mode for your kboot file.

The site is dedicated to ubuntu for the ps3. So people check out the forums for other things ps3/ubuntu related.
EDIT: wifi work!
