Default Gentoo Wiki needs noob clarification

http://ps3wiki.qj.net/index.php/Gentoo_Howto

Could use a little clarification here if anyone knows what I need to do.

I was chuggin' through the HOW TO here and got to the point where I needed to download the stage4 tarballz.

Wired my PS3 to my cable modem and tried downloading.. Kept getting an error, with resolving a name or something. So I figured I'd try the pre-downloaded route. Only problem is when I get to this point:

(If already downloaded in advance, copy the file to /mnt/gentoo now)

Sweet, will do.. Oh ****, I'm a total linux noob and I have NO IDEA how to access my USB drive or even how to copy to that location. Did some experimenting going to cd /dev/ and dir'ing but just got a buttload of stuff and no idea where else to look.

I know I need to Trying to find some info online, but it's slow going. Anyone know what I need to do here off the top of their heads?

Ok, resolved the problem. Might want to update that wiki for the TOTAL NOOBS like myself out there

After you plugin in your memorystick, USB, ETC. you type:
dmesg | tail
What this seems to do is show you what drives you have on there?
I saw my USB drive at sdd1, you can do a:
fdisk -l
to check it.
After that I had to make a dir to mount the disk to:
mkdir /mnt/USBHD/
mount /dev/sdd1/ /mnt/USBHD/
cd /mnt/USBHD/
cp filename.bla /mnt/gentoo

Than I continued on with the FAQ from there.
