can someone help me who knows something about ubuntu ps3 linux...? i installed it set it up, then i *tried* following that guide, managed (after many problems and much time) to get into my kernel and i deleted my kernel.conf and then pasted the dudes from the guide i linked (i have same TV quality for monitor and everything as him) and then closed the window/terminal (idk if that was the right thing to do...) and theres no difference. it didnt do anything such as ask me to save it, or bring up something about wireless when i closed it, and when i went to network connection there was nothing about wireless...so what did i do wrong?
and if theres an easier way to do this (as it seems there is according to lame_unix) can you give me a link to it so i can do that rather than going through all these kernel commands that i dont know? thanks...

ok.... i installed and got ubuntu working (still with me?)
then, i followed the guide i posted in like the second post to psubuntu forums. then, i managed to go through the terminal and get to the right file and found what i needed to in the guide then i deleted it, and copy and pasted what he posted as what his looked like (cause his was set for a 1080p tv or i or w/e the **** it is and mine is too) so we had the same settings then, i closed the terminal, i didnt ask anything like "do you want to save tihs file" or "save before you close" or and of that sort of thing that windows does when you edit a file. then after i closed it i clicked internet connections at the top of the screen and it only has "wirded internet connection" and i think the other was "modem" or "dial up" or something so, my question is, what did i do wrong? where would i find wireless if i did it right and would it be quite obvious if i did it right? also, lame_unix said that theres and updated kernel or w/e so it sounds like you just DL that and install (?) it and you should be good to go, and if thats the case, then where would i find that. hope this is easier...

thats what i meant by i followed the guide...i downloaded it and double clicked it and it installed it...and when i tried the first command it said i needed like admin privliges or w/e...so i installed it by clicking it and then i also extracted it and figured/hoped it was right.
and i dont know why its wrong after my step because thats basicly step 4....only instead of editing everything line by line i just copied and pasted his that he posted there which someone else said they did and it worked for them

yea no problem, I'm not very experienced with Linux so, so i was surprised i was actually able to figure out how to get to it in the long run what with all the confusing commands. (I had to copy the guys post/guide and save it in a text file then put it onto my ps3 via a portable media thing just so i could copy the confusing commands and paste em lol)
anyway, if im still aving problems and oyu get it set up and working that just means you'll be able to help me ;p -= Double Post =- lol, well now when i start up ubuntu i get a bunch of errors and then it goes to the shell, gg me, clearly i did **** that up lol
