I have this problem with ubuntu 7.04, mainly with its kboot..
I downloaded the otheros.bld file to a usb flash drive and then I Quick formatted and installed the Other OS...
But..without any notified errors,
the screen just went blank, and the PS3 just turned off...with the red power light flashing...
I tried to find out the solution of the problem for a while...and I even tried full format on the PS3 to get rid of a Linux system (Helios) that was previously on my PS3...But it still didn't work..
Any ideas?

mmmm probably a bad command line. id get another kboot from somewhere else.
