Default Linux on SDTV?

Hello everyone!

Okay, my Linux looks crappy... First, I can barely read the text on the command line, like a multicolor/pinkish glow around it... Then the same thing around the mousen cursor, and the background is like, glowish... I spent 5 minutes trying to figure out how to use the Services manager at the very small resolution, since I couldn't resize the window I had to guess Alt+* combos...

It looks like (s-word) overall. Is it because my TV isn't high-definition, or is it something else?

If it is a HD problem, can I get an HD for like, cheap? The PS3 killed my wallet to be honest. Or can anyone give me one for free? Just kidding.

Thanks for any suggestions!

(P.S: The XMB/PS3 mode has no problems).

You're not going to get it to look like a PC non-fuzziness-wise, because of the resolution differences.

Hmm... Not even with an HDTV?

Will this one work better than a SDTV? I don't really understand the 480p or 1080i or whatever those mean...

Thanks!

480 i is standard def. it means that they're are 480 lines and they are interlaced (every other line is generated then the screen goes blank then the lines that werent generated are generated and wiped) 480p is progressive scan, so every line is generated in sequence then wiped. the same goes for 720P 1080I and 1080P. just replace the numbers in my explanations.
