That's really odd, though. Ubuntu shouldn't lag. It doesn't lag on my 450MHz computer, and the PS3's just a BIT more powerful than that.

Yeah. VLC on Ubuntu is great. Also, Ubuntu recognized my 250GB NTFS external hard drive, so I don't have to worry about converting anything in PS3 format. VLC plays virtually everything.

no. i just dont see the point in installing a not very compatible version of linux, on my ps3 when i have my computer sitting right beside me. maybe not the case for you linux ps3 users though.

Now I can code for the PSP on the PS3.... so much for coolness

Besides that, it's just that I can do almost everything now on my PS3.
The webbrowser is better, more media formats supported.... aw, too many reasons to count

And yes, my PC-Laptod is sitting right beside it - also running a Linux side-by-side with Windows, same goes for desktop.

vlc under fedora 7 is awesome too, what a great thing to use the ps3 as a pc...can't wait for the future !
