At Step 11, click on any process in the System Monitor and hit CTRL+A to select all the processes. Right click and choose kill process to kill them all. Whatever processes that are necessary will boot back up on its own. Then just go through the rest of the guide and you're set.

how do i stop proccesses i cant get to the desktop? how long shall i wait for the 85%

You need to do the installation over again. Start from scratch and try what I posted.
