So I just upgraded from 7.04(clean install) and I'm trying to redownload all the programs that I had. I was trying to reinstall ntfs-3g so I could read files from my NTFS external hard drive and I'm having trouble. Everything worked so fine in Fiesty Fawn, but Gutsy is beginning to annoy me. Are there any alternative methods to get NTFS under Guytsy Gibson.

NVM. After reading a post from the ubuntu forums, it appears the people who are having the problem just need to 'safely remove' their hard drives from within Windows. If you just plug it out then Ubuntu will refuse to mount it.
So to fix the problem if you are having a similar issue, just plug in your external hard drive into a Windows PC and safely remove it.
