QJ.net Game Discussion - PSP, Xbox, Wii, PS3, PSP Homebrew, and PSP Guides

Ok, I have used my Windows XP PC to give my 360 internet through Windows ICS which was working great. I am trying to achieve the same goal using my PS3 running YDL 6.0 hooked up to my WiFi network. How would I set up the ethernet jack to be a seperate device? My only otion in firestarter is eth0 (my WiFi adapter). In Network config, The only device I can set up a connection for is my WiFi card...What happened to my ethernet card? How to I activate it? I am trying to hook up my 360 using a crossover cable to the ethernet jack on the PS3 running YDL connected to WiFi. Is this even possible? If so, It would be pretty damn cool. It would beat my 360 into submission having it know that it's fate lies in my PS3's hands...

EDIT: Guess $ony made it impossible to use them both at once, so this isn't going to work...

Are you just being cheap so you wont have to buy a 360 wifi adapter?

It fits in to both sections and it's a little more productive if you want my opinion. Yes, I don't really want to spend 90 bucks on an accessory that should already be part of the system...

Who cares what should have been part of the system...You dont see me *****ing about dvd playback not on my wii or the fact that I had to pay more for my ps3 than a 360...

It cost the same amount if you buy the 360 with a wifi adapter or a ps3...

Also you dont need 2 threads.... You need one

Also if this happen I can see some major hiccups and lag on your part when doing this..

well a 100 dollar adapter or knowledge of how to save 93 dollars.... hmmm... you choose. (7 dollars in cables and tax.)

Sorry kinda got side tracked...

Sony went to extra trouble to make it impossible, providing access to only one network device at a time.SO there you have it your out of luck....

Have fun with a 360 without live unless it by your pc...

I didn't have a PS3 at the time

I would buy them for the PS3, but I don't want to loose my COD4 rank and such. Guitar Hero is a little expensive to buy when you alreay have it on another system. Gamestop says that they don't take accesories, so I am sutuck with 360 Hero...
AND: No, I have never tried to run two net cards at once in linux. Why?

Its the hypervisor thats restricting both Wifi and Ethernet on the PS3 for some reason sorry dude theres no way that could work...for now

unless...and I'm just guessing and don't know if it would work but you could try buying a USB to Ethernet adapter and try using that it should work but I'm not sure...

Dont think that will work it still going to be seen as a network device....ALso finding a driver for a ppc is not the fun thing to do in the end it just not worth it..

if you have a wire going to your ps3, couldnt you just unplug it and plug it into your 360 to play on live? unless of coarse they are in different rooms.
