Default OS ISO that can fit on CD?

Basically, I don't have any DVDs so I'd like to find a ISO that fits on a CD.

And I'd prefer something like Ubuntu or Linux Mint, as I've been using Debian-based and user-friendly OSes for a while and I like those.

You'd prefer Ubuntu? Well you're in luck - it fits on a CD Really you answered your own question there! Ubuntu is great and fits on a CD (even as a live cd).

My Ubuntu live CD isn't working.
I dunno why. It's one of the 7.10 PPC ones.

(6.06 is the last supported PPC but it's fail)

If you want to go the Ubuntu/Debian route, install Xubuntu instead. It's a smaller install, and the Xfce window manager uses less RAM.

Make sure to grab the PS3 versions, they're different than the generic PPC versions.

Meh. I don't really like XFCE. I actually like LXDE more. But sure, why not.
I'd love an Ubuntulite PS3 image. :P

Its a shame you can't do network installs with the PS3.

Also, not to hijack this thread but since we're on the topic of XFCE, I tried installing it on Fedora the other day using the graphical installer from xfce.net. But it froze at 99% and now when I click the XFCE menu, it dissapears although everything else works. I saw no uninstall script so I tried uninstalling it with "yum groupremove XFCE" and reinstalling it with "yum groupinstall XFCE". Does anyone know of a fix?

I don't really have WiFi, so I dont' care about network installs. :P

And I'm not really familiar with YUM-distros, but it should have a config directory. Somewhere in /home/$USER/ Maybe .xfce or something. The first thing I'd do is delete that.

Umm.... you can.

Not all distros have made a network install disk, but so far I know there is a ydl one and a opensuse one.

I confirm this. I have YDL 6.0 on my PS3 and it supports network installs.
