Default Linux broken since recent FW updates?

A few days ago (shortly after the 2.50 update) I wanted to boot up my Linux on the PS3, but it failed to boot ever since, freezes at one point and all I can do is pulling the (power) plug....

OK, time for reinstall, I thought, but no go either, can't even boot the install DVD, freezes as well way before the installer starts.

I'm using OpenSuse 11.0

Anyone got a clue WTF Sony messed up in the Hypervisor?

If they blocked it the Install OtherOS thing wouldn't be in settings still.

Perhaps certain OS's aren't compatible with something they added. Or they changed the way kboot works.

I am pretty sure the changelog would have mentioned something.....maybe they are trying to make it so you can only use YDL ?

There was a touch of sarcasm, but seriously I don't know you have to wait until someone who has it installed answers.

YDL didn't work as well (hopening for the recently released one to work again, waiting for the public downloads....)

My guess now is it has something to do with the VRAM now beeing accessible by Linux....
Hopefully my fav distro will work as well again when the new release it finished....

Oh, and yes, did reinstall kboot as well.
