Ok so i have gotten my ps3 and i am now looking for the best linux distro. I have heard that yellow dog and ubunto is the best. I want the most efecient distro. What are my choices.

Also can i install it with my psp or memorystick or does it have to be a cd.

Good questions!

If you're new to Linux I'd suggest Yellow Dog. Ubuntu would be a little less efficient (believe me, I've tried them all from Fedora to Gentoo to Slackware). I'd install it off of a DVD since the ISO is too large to fit on a CD. I can't answer the question about n64 emulation because I honestly never tried. X and the graphics environment isn't hardware accelerated which means it would probably be slow. Sony locked access to the RSX.

Good Luck!

Thanks the only problem is i cant burn onto cds or dvds. I have an ancient computer witch is why im installing linux. I was hoping to be able to put it on my psp witch has enough memory to store it. What would be my best option due to my situation.

You be best to find a friend who has a dvd burner and use it. Or you can buy then for very cheap. A good place to buy them is from http://www.osdisc.com/

THe n64 emu is very lagged and not worth it to install. However snes and nes run great on the ps3.

I've been experimenting with Petitboot but can't get it to recognize my drive with the image on it. Must have forgotten.
