Exclamation KBoot Wont install!

I used a Compact Flash card and made the PS3 Folder. Inside that is a "OTHEROS" Folder. Inside THAT is otheros.self and otheros.bld (From the Add- CD Iso).

The PS3 recognizes the installer, and says to press X to install and the screen will go black. All of this works, Except the system returns to the XMB and nothing is changed at all. There is no "Default System" Setting in the System Settings menu at all.

Can anyone help me? What am I doing wrong?

1) check that you're running firmware 1.10
2) use the foldername /PS3/otheros/ (not caps, who knows may make a difference)
3) should then be the option of default system under system settings (the option that's set to "PS3")

The ps3 so far only reads otheros files from devices that are using fat or fat32. Plug in the stick into your pc and see what file system it is using. If it's not fat or fat32, then format the device and select fat or fat32.

The other problem could be the way you setup files. Here's the rar I used to install otheros. Delete all ps3 folders on your stick and then extract this folder to the root of the stick.
PS3.rar

Hope that helps.

Never mind! I got it. I dont know what I did!

I shut the console off, and turned the main power switch on. Then I booted the console up and IMMEDIATLY, Went to the "Other OS" Menu. I clicked on it, and im installing right now (35% done)

i just got it to work, what i did was format it, then try to install other os, then it didnt work 3 times, so i would leave the power button pressed untill it turned off the 3 times, then try again, the 4th time, the screen didnt stay blank, the other os installer came up, so ya... all good, i guess its a glitch or some ****..
