Hello !
Can anybody tell me how I can manually start the installation of the addon cd after installing fedora.
Because after installing of fedora which took about 4 hours the system asked me if I want to install addon (Y/N) and after that it returned to the kboot prompt.

did you actually put the cd in and press Y ?
because if you did you just need to restart the machine.

The system asked me ( Y/N)

But before I could insert the cd and input Y the system came with the prompt but without error.
So I could not start the installing by saying Y.
The main DVD installation went well.
So what can I do without installing again the DVD and wait 4 hours ?

you could manually install it from bash, or xserver if it will start, but i think you're better just reinstalling, it would take more than 4 hours to resolve it manually anyway (if someone has to guide you).

I have the same problem!

I cant get the install to work, PERIOD!

The main dvd took about 3 hours to install, Then it said add on. When I put the add-on CD in, It said "INSTALLATION CANCELLED" and made the Kboot prompt come up about 15 times, Then stopped. When I restarted the system, and typed "Startx" Nothing happened and it said that "startx" didnt exist. I AM GETTING REALLY ANGRY. Im reinstalling for the 3rd time as I type.

Anyone? Can anyone help? The install is at 90% and I want to find out what I should do to make sure it doesnt cancel the install!

i had the same problem, and i had to install 3 times

the thing is, after you pick your installation method DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING ON THE KEYBOARD

you will get tempted because the screen stays idle for awhile at one point, but DO NOT TYPE ANYTHING

it should work then

i am having a similar problem. the core install oges fine but when it comes time for the PS3 addon i load the cd and hit y then enter and it tells me "not add on package" i have downloaded the add on disc twice to make sure i got the correct one but it did that both times, any help

i used a dvd for both discs, do i need to use a cdr for the addon?

I burnt the add-on disc onto a dvd and it worked fine.
Make sure your burning software burns the iso correctly (dvd's have a minimum size requirement of like a gig or so).
If you use Alcohol, it warns you about this and adjusts the burning automatically so it is dvd compliant.

Hello everybody, I am new here , I am trying to install FC6 on my 20G PS3 for last 8 hours making me crazy.
Well , DVD install go well (except few packages don't install)
but when I tried to install add on cd , it show many errors on the screen which makes me believe that CD was not burned correctly. And after add on cd install failed msg I was back to KBOOT promt. Now I downloaded CELL-Linux-CL_20061208-ADDON.iso .

-Is CELL-Linux-CL_20061208-ADDON.iso good for FC6 or only FC5?
-Is there any way to start installation of Add-on-cd from KBOOT. (Some comment like install-addon ...?)

I really need help .

Well, I read all the responses and there is still no answer for the first question :
"If there is a manual way of installing Add On Cd from KBOOT command promt.
I Burned new Add-on CDs but I don't want to install again and again for hours and try if the new Add On CD is working.
I am sure there is a way , just one line of code

So now my ps3 is still waiting on KBOOT promt.
