been using linux for a few years now, its pretty cake but you can do a lot tweaking and fine tuning of the system once you get the hang of it. The popular distros for ps3 are pretty n00b friendly so you should be okay. Besides there is no better way to find out then to try yourself.

you can also try a knoppix or liveCD to see how linux is. The livecds wont touch your actual system and run entirely off of the cd.

did you have any specific questions?

i must say ubuntu does better have a better installer but i fell that freespire fells more like windows seeing has it can your play your media as soon has you install it but with ubuntu doesn't do this that why i fell it better for new linux users evem tho it tales me only 5 min to install all that on ubuntu it was really hard for my sister and ever one else

i just about to give my sister freespire 2.0 alpha i see how much she likes it
